I don’t like bright light, loud noise or strong scents. It must be an aging thing because I never noticed these things when I was young.I remember my mom always yelling at us to turn down the sound on tv and stereo.I wore so much perfume that people would say that they knew I was around before they saw me....eeew and sorry people for what I put you through.

I have a lot of stuff that I was going to list but it isn't visual, it's sounds, noise.  I have bad nerves and peoples noises make me wanna hollar!

Re: Are you sensitive to visual stimuli?

My thing is a visual stimuli, I have a smaller kitchen and the countertop area I have to work on is precious to me.  I can't stand a bunch of stuff on it, or our dining room table.  I really like those cleared off.  If I clear a place in the fridge, for something I'll have going in there and my husband puts something there, I have to stay calm and have him not use that area.

Re: Are you sensitive to visual stimuli?

Yes, I can't stand clutter....it makes me anxious and I can't concentrate.

I prefer dim lighting as it is calming to me but yet I can't stand the Light & bright decor such as a basically all white kitchen or living room/bedroom walls that are painted white or off-white.  They appear cold and uninviting to me and I prefer the warmth of color....especially on the walls.  I don't even mind a very dark color on the walls as long as they are balanced with lighter trim, accessories, etc.

Everyone is sensitive to stimuli, although what is unpleasant to one may be pleasurable to another.

Your student may have been having an "absence" seizure. I retired from the classroom four years ago..after 35 years....I "feel" your pain!
