Re: Are you a trusting person? I keep seeing all these people who send money

Now that I think about it.. like a few others here mentioned, I really don’t have to put much trust in strangers as far as my personal business and security goes. Due to my age, and situation in life. Unless we count doctors, lawyers and the daily rip-offs that certainly due occur from most any legitimate transaction. All those hidden or cleverly disguised added fees and such on our bills.

The phone, internet and mail scammers are a constant nuisance and I can’t imagine willingly giving them the time of day, let alone one wooden nickel!

I don’t loan or borrow money. I will give what I can to those I know in need, or through charities I trust through my church. Mr. Catfish would better bait and cast his hook elsewhere. Couldn’t be less interested in even chancing to meet up with the likes of him. Don’t swim in his waters.

“Trust but verify” is always a good practice in life, @Q4u. My intuition and common sense usually guides me along safely. Even with my privacy. I would never tell a gossip anything I don’t want broadcasted to the world. If they are gossiping behind someone else’s back to you- they will be sharing your secrets and gossiping behind your back in the next breath. Therefore I don’t associate with them- or control freaks, who can become as dangerous as a hair-trigger.

Honestly not so much. Times have changed. Or maybe it’s just me. The telephone calls are enough to make me think differently.

@Imaoldhippie,

Sadly what before was the exception it is now becoming the rule.

There are still people with values and a solid moral compass. I was very fortunate to be sourounded by them. That lead me to believe that everyone was noble, good...after many disappointments I even doubt about the golden rule of morality.

Where has gratitude gone?
For George Bernard Shaw, “the golden rule is that there are no golden rules”. I thought that he was joking, well not anymore🌻

     I donate to a few trusted charities, but beyond that no way. However, on occasion I can be a sap if someone comes up to me looking hungry and asks for some money.
