@mousiegirl

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  Then a few weeks later your husband turns up with a terrible medical issue.

You mentioned an Oncologist so I am assuming it is the big C.  I am sorry to hear such terrible news and wish your husband all the best with his health.  Like birdmama said there is so much new stuff they are doing these days in the medical world so please keep hoping for the best!  Keep the faith mousie!

OMG I am sorry to hear that you hit your head on a shelf and then hurt your your right knee!  How terrible that you had to figure out a way to get up and while in pain!  I don't know how you did it!

Mousie please vent here anytime you want to.  We are all here for you!!!  I am sorry that you did not mention it to us sooner.  I missed your great posts in here,

Promise that you will keep us updated and again feel free to vent!!!

Sending big hugs your way!!!  You and your family are in my prayers!

Re: April 2020 Showers at the Bird's Nest

Hi everyone,

Today I had a telemede with my Gastro doctor and he did not like it that his associate put me on so many meds that he does not feel will work.  I could tell he was upset by his face.  So he is making some changes.

It rained all last night here and all day yesterday (Friday).  At least it wasn't snow.  @Bird mama  you mentioned that you do not rule out snow in Michigan until the end of April.  I am the same here in NH....end of April here too!

Lots of robins around today!  I am hoping that some birds that have checked out our bird houses will decide to nest in one of ours.  Would love to hear the sound of babies chirping!

I saw on the TV a little while ago how to make your own masks using 2 paper towels, 2 rubber bands stapled at the ends to go around the ears and bingo you have a mask!  I know it is not the N95 or N99 but it is better than nothing,  They are saying bandanas and also scarves and we have some of those also so we are all set!

Went to the pharmacy today to pick up my meds and the roads were very crowded.  Have no clue where they were all going because most everything is closed!  Seems most are not following the stay at home order.  The grocery store parking lots were very  crowded also but that is a necessity. We are trying to go to the grocery store about once every two weeks. My husband goes and I must say he does a great job!

Any news on how Yocks husband is doing?  I hope he is improving!

Everyone please stay safe and healthy!!!

Re: April 2020 Showers at the Bird's Nest

Betty @yock provided an update on Merle last night.  The news is very encouraging.

Merle is still considered critically stable. He is still on a ventilator and is sedated.  The report I got tonight is he is only using 40 percent oxygen from machine now up from 60 percent.  They will do another chest X-ray tomorrow.  They try to rock him when they are shifting him around to move fluids.

I asked if I could talk to him and nurse took the phone to him. I told him I loved him and needed him to come home. I was hoping for a jump in some of his numbers but that sis took happen. There was no response. I can only hope at some level he heard me.   I'm so grateful to the nurse for allowing me to Talk to him.

it Seems impossible that a week has gone by. I am through my first week of quarantine.

Hckynut - WHERE have you been? Have not seen you around in ages - made my day as you have been one of the missing I often think about. Now you could have been posting all along but I have not seen your posts in several years - have thought about you and yours often. Still in Nebraska huh?

Somehow my back started acting up yesterday and that is miserable. Did get some more Bird Food - thank goodness - so Davey will have to fill the feeders. Actually took him with me yesteray morning and we found everything I needed - felt really good about that. No crowds, no problems and it went very well and smooth. WOW!!!

Not sure what I will accomplish today - probably not much of anthing. Did get Ditty and Miss  Blackie fed already so that is done for the day. Good thing as those two would let me know in a hurry if they had to wait. LOL.

Mousiegirl am so sorry about what you are going through. At times, life can be so difficult. Take care my friend.

Possum, you OK? Just checking.

Have a great day everyone.

@luvsbulldogs   Thank you Smiley Happy, I appreciate this.  I usually don't talk about bad things that happen,  but this time it just came flowing out of me.  Re DH, it is a good warning to everyone with men in their lives to be tested and if their doctor says not needed, insist upon it.

@luvsbulldogs   DH had to go to the bank yesterday, so said he made a mask out of an old shirt, we tear them apart and used them as rags, didn't see it.

The public should have been told to wear masks from the get go, now people will hoard them as they are hoarding cleaning materials and food, what a mess.  Stores should limit the mount of masks to only a few per person. but someone would just say they are buying for their family members.

It seems there are too many hands in the pot re your meds.  I give doctors the third degree on anything they suggest, lol, I am ever skeptical, feel we are guinea  pigs for the medical profession, and I suppose that sometimes has to happen.

DH now has a video appointment with an oncologist on Thursday morning, so I will be nearby to ask any questions that DH won't think to ask, and taking notes.  I told him to find out if she is a specialist in this field, as that is mandatory.

I wish your doctor could get a handle on your issue, must be so difficult to deal with this on a daily basis, I feel for you.
