Welcome dear friends and new visitors to the Bird's Nest for April.
Among the trees is a bird's nest,
and in the nest her three eggs rest,
and in each egg, Hush, you'll be heard!
There lies asleep A tiny bird.

Suppose to be warmer today - sure hope so. If so, the kitties will spend the day in their condo. LOL.
Filled the feeders day before yesterday and as cold and wet as it was, they are empty again. Course yesterday we only had a couple drops but they wasted no time. Interesting you just do not see them hanging out like they did for years and years but they manage to get here fast when the seed is put in their feeders. Amazing. I still find it so disappointing that we just do not see the many feathered critters like we once had. First that was caused by development - and then in recent years, the drought. Just not right!
The little bunny was out in the neighbor's yard again yesterday and once again it did not come over here. THey still have not shored up the openings so why does it stay home now? Do they have it on a leash? LOL. One must admit that is indeed weird. I see no one out there and it seems to be in the same spot now for three days. I cannot stand out there forever to see what it does but am sure curious. At least it is NOT out in the street. Whew!!
Gotta get a move on and head to the gym - need to lubricate these creaking joints.
Have a good day everyone.

I loved your post, I was sitting here thinking about our birds, I should say hubby and mine and our cat Aggies birds. They are characters, we have "feed your head" blue jays, they are huge! I am dating myself with The Jefferson Airplane song. The most beautiful Cardinals, I love it when they kiss or feed each other, not seen often. All the birds are characters, also with the warm winter and hardly any snow this year (Mass), we had alone chipmunk, a red squirrel ,and a piggy gray squirrel, at our feeders. They provide much entertainment for us and Aggie ,who talks to them. Spring is coming slowly and we will not feed them until next winter, so they can feed off the trees and flowers. I do agree they come as fast as you fill up the feeders! We have had much disgusting house building around here and my rabbits and the deer are all gone, breaks my heart, that they allow so much close construction! Well enough,I must take Aggie out for a walk, she has a leash and we go walking around .

I just got a new bird house and the chickadees are moving in! It's so interesting to watch them bring their nest building twigs and leaves into their house! One of the pair is always watching from afar as the other goes inside to work on the nest!

Bernie, Thanks for the reminder about the April thread. I'd forgotten as usual.
I moved the post above this, by Fortune, and hope she finds this thread. I never thought to leave a note for her.
Mama Great Horned Owl brought another egret to the nest for the owlets and her supper. Wish they'd eat salads instead.
Nature's darker side, I guess.
Mama Barred owl, in Indiana, had a fish for supper, followed by a frog for dessert. Dad owl is a great provider for her. She'll need his help when her 3 eggs hatch, Those owlets are hard to keep up with and I am always worried that the younger ones are going to starve, because the bigger ones are downright hoggish and pushy when it comes to feeding by Mom. Dad owl has been bringing her tadpoles to eat too and crawfish. He must love water, I can't imagine him catching a fish I hope it wasn't from someone's fish pond.
Guess what, Dingbat here!! I posted this on the March thread and had to move it. I am not firiing on all cylinders today. ![]()
