Suppose to get to 90 today - not quite ready for that, 80 would be perfect but NOT 90. Then the next three days we will have winter back and hopefully some rain - We can always use the rain.

Bryan coming to mow the weeds - not much grass left but when he finishes it will at least not look so straggly. He will do some sweating out there for sure.

Household has been hectic past few days but yesterday had some positive tossed in - kids who use to live down the street came and spent the day here - they have been in Idaho for the past 6 or 7 years. Was an exhausting day as my house was already filled with "us" but a positive seeing them. Some great memories tied to those three boys.

Have not been to exercise since Friday - am way behind on that. Have not felt up to it - just way too tired so MUST get there today or my old joints will freeze up on me.

Hope one and all have a very good day - guess the sweating will start out here in Sou Cal in a couple hours - as I said, going to be a hot one.

Today is going to be a strange weather day.  This morning, lightening and sleet/hail and then temps in the 50's.

It was dry at a cork at my house and I didn't get any precipitation until I got closer to work downtown.

My sister may be discharged from the rehabilitation facility next Wednesday.  The big family meeting is today and I know she has concerns about neck pain that radiates to the shoulder.  I think she wants them to figure out the cause of that before she leaves but I don't know if they will order complex radiology (CT scan or MRI) for the neck or if that's even within their right.  Not sure if an outside neurologist should do it.

Either way, hope to know more later on in the day.  She can walk with a walker and did leave for the day on Saturday.  Her youngest daughter took my sister to sister's apartment.  Her eldest daughter took her to church on Sunday.

She is making some improvement which is a blessing.

Epi, darn it all anyway. Do not want to see you disappear. You are NOT a thread killer but if you just need a little time, that's OK. We have missed you before at the Fence, just do not want that to keep happening. Take care!!

Me? well I will probably keep pestering everyone. Maybe not every single day but I am not willing - YET - to back off. So I will stop by when circumstances allow it. Now that was a lot of saying nothing.

Yesterday was 93 - way too hot but it has happened before out here. This morning it is overcast and not expected to go much over 70. Tomorrow perhaps rain?????

Have not gotten those feeders filled yet - those birds must surely be upset with me.

Betty, are you having too much fun in Florida to stop by? We miss you.

Spent the first almost hour this morning, straightening and cleaning - each day I am convinced more and more pigs live here. Never did understand why people can just leave stuff/junk/'food all around rather than putting it all up correctly. I am NOT a neatness freak but I do not deliberately make a mess. I know how they were raised and it was not this way.

Need to get a move on - have a great day everyone.

@Winifred

For a little while I guess it's you and me holding up the fence.  Hopefully when Epi, Queen Sue and Betty feel better, we'll have more company.

For anyone visiting the Back Fence who doesn't visit the Bird's Nest, I am trying to rehab a pigeon that fought off 3 attacks from a hawk, two of which I saw with my own eyes on Tuesday afternoon.

Lord have Mercy, this bird was and is a survivor, even though he's nearly plucked bald on his back.  Mind you, I have no idea if this is a male or female - pigeons are colored the same way no matter the gender.

My eldest sister suggested the name Rocky (like Rocky Balboa) since the bird took 3 beatings and wouldn't stay down.

One day at a time, Rocky is making improvement :-)

Morning, and oh my the snow is flying, think I'll have to dig out my boots again as I have to make a run to the store, martini's & pizza nite, need some crackers & cheese.

@Bird mama really needed you yesterday, you would have known what to do, 2 baby bunnies in my yard, Sadie playing with them, didn't know what to do, so I got her in & kept watch for mommy bunny but no luck, can't keep Sadie in forever & didn't know if the birds or whatever would get to them, so sadly much later, I covered them securely , I know horrible but didn't want Sadie getting at them, could they be rabid?  anyway I kept Sadie away from them this am, will get out there when I leave for the store & no doubt will have to scoop them up & dispose. Don't know what happened to the mom must have nested somewhere in my yard I'm guessing but couldn't find it.

That's my story for today now I have to get moving

@spix

I am so very sorry that the baby bunnies got caught in the cold without their mother.  We are expecting 2-4 inches of snow tonight, so I know what it feels like out there.

My Ma hand raised a kitten straight out of the birth sack years ago - mother cat was a stray and probably could only carry so many.

I have never done a baby bunny.  I used to have more rabbits in my yard, ironically when my dog Max was alive.  Isn't that odd, dog in the yard and more rabbits - dog crosses the rainbow bridge less rabbits.

Then again, maybe it was Max's presence in the yard that kept the hawks at bay, oh Lord, now I am thinkin hard about it, lol.

I digress. I had one experience a few years ago when it was around this time of the year, similar weather as it is now, some warm days then a cold snap.

I went out to feed the birds and a short distance away from the pavers, my eye was caught by a small furry object in the yard.  I approached it tentatively, not knowing what it was.  Alas it was the smallest bunny I had ever seen, fully furry and everything, but it had passed away, likely from hypothermia.

If your baby bunnies have crossed the bridge, the only words I can offer of comfort is they likely fell asleep and went went they were asleep because of the cold.
