Hello all - after a couple of drippy, dreary days, it remains cool outside but sunny.  Darn I just looked outside the front window and see a couple of dandelions sprouting in the front yard (near the street).  Ugh. Even though I have a broadcast spreader by Scotts, I'm not one for full lawn weedkiller.

I have too many critters that hang around my property and the last thing I want to do is make one of them sick.  To that end, I will be plucking the dandelions and filling the holes with  a couple of squirts of weed b gone.

If I catch it early enough in the season and my neighbors follow suit - the weeds don't get bad.

My back yard abuts a school athletic field and they never apply weedkiller so it's a full seaon job fighting the weeds back there.  I wish my rabbits would come back around - they used to eat the dandelions.

Afternnon, beautiful day, sunny & cool, but to be 80's tomorrow, then cool off again.

@mousiegirl, years ago when we had the house in MI, DH cutting the grass ran over the hole in the ground, well they came out in full force, he ran up to the house, I was afraid to open the door, lol, but did let him in, had quite a few stings, luckily he was ok.  Neighbors said we had to burn it at nite when they all were "home", so we did & never had the problem again, really scary.

Well got to get going, have a good one everybody

For sure bees can be a real nuisance - and super dangerous if hive strength.

Not going to be real hot today - sure am glad but hope it is warm enough for the two kitties to be outside in their condo. They do not cause problems out there but am sure they are not real happy there. Poor babies - still trying to find them homes but haven't tried real hard the past month or so - too much going on here. Will call again tomorrow - have been more than disappointed with the cat rescuers I have contacted - they say one thing and do another - I find that very strange. Even PetCo canceled plans to take them one weekend. Weird.

Queen Sue - we miss you and I was saddened to hear you were in the hospital for two weeks and Jim spent a few days in there also. Thank the Lord for your friends - but knowing you, and hearing about Jim, it makes sense - you two are such super nice people. Take care of yourself and am hoping you can find the time to stop by for a minute or so.

I need to fill the bird feeders but just have not done it yet. Went to bed early yesterday and it was a blessing for me as I have not been getting enough sleep. Although I did wake up about 3 times during the night I slept most of the time. Heavenly for sure.

Hope one and all have a good day.

@Winifred  Unfortunately, the fact is that kittens are more easily adopted than adult cats, same with dogs, but of course, adults are adopted just takes longer, but maybe never.  If people would only spay and neuter their pets there would not be so many animals in need of homes.

Hello all - it's a beautiful, sunny day here in SE Michigan.  Short of going grocery shopping a couple of hours ago, I've just been puttering around the house.  I've also been watching past interviews (online) with Prince and it still seems so odd to me that he has passed away.

I know we all gotta go.  I have CDs of his music and they definitely bring back vivid memories of that time of my life - mid 80's - mid 90's.

It's just sad to me.

Hi Birdmama.  It's me again.  Just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed the Back Fence as well as your other threads.  I'm housebound and live in the middle of town in a small apartment.  In my younger life i loved gardening and nature. I had the most lovely fruit trees, herbs, tomatoes... I get so sad thinking of all that I have lost over the years.  your threads always lifted me up and reminded me of the joy I had.  Please continue to share your joy.

Sweetie, I'm not going anywhere.  There is a poster among us who, I believe is having a bigger issue with one of the posters on the handbag threads.  For reasons that baffle me, this poster appears to be directing some attitude my way.  I thought about leaving the handbag thread to see if that would diffuse whatever is going on.

OH NO!!!  I can not imagine anyone throwing insults or taunts your way!  You are one of the most kind people I have met on the board.  I have to say that I gravitated away from some boards due to the trolls.  There are a few people, three I could name, who have followed me from board to board and topic to topic!  Three of my posts wer deleted because these women (I feel) stalked me and by their nasty comments had my posts deleted.  The threads would go along nicely and these women would jump in and the post would be discontinued due to "became unkind" or "became argumentative".  I am not only sorry, I am outraged that this was done to you!  I think the moderators need to know about this.  Would you let me talk to mods?  I am going going to express what happened to me and have them made more responsible for what is printed here.

Your leaving will not diffuse the situation, it will just give more power to the troll.  She is the one who needs to go!
