I am so very sorry that the baby bunnies got caught in the cold without their mother.  We are expecting 2-4 inches of snow tonight, so I know what it feels like out there.

My Ma hand raised a kitten straight out of the birth sack years ago - mother cat was a stray and probably could only carry so many.

I have never done a baby bunny.  I used to have more rabbits in my yard, ironically when my dog Max was alive.  Isn't that odd, dog in the yard and more rabbits - dog crosses the rainbow bridge less rabbits.

Then again, maybe it was Max's presence in the yard that kept the hawks at bay, oh Lord, now I am thinkin hard about it, lol.

I digress. I had one experience a few years ago when it was around this time of the year, similar weather as it is now, some warm days then a cold snap.

I went out to feed the birds and a short distance away from the pavers, my eye was caught by a small furry object in the yard.  I approached it tentatively, not knowing what it was.  Alas it was the smallest bunny I had ever seen, fully furry and everything, but it had passed away, likely from hypothermia.

If your baby bunnies have crossed the bridge, the only words I can offer of comfort is they likely fell asleep and went went they were asleep because of the cold.

@Bird mama  If the Mom didn't come back, she most likely was killed such as happened here last year.  I was traumatized at finding two baby dead bunnies one morning.  Cats, dogs, as well as wild animals including owls and hawks will attack rabbits.

I think Betty is just busy in Florida with her family. Not sure how long her family is staying but after a while it will be just she and Merle - I THINK that is the way they do it. My Sis and BIL returned from Florida after 3 months there. Soushi, another long time poster primarily on the kitchen thread just returned from Florida and Betty just got there

Had fried eggplant for dinner last night and there is still enough left over for me to have sandwiches. LOL. Love that stuff. It is not difficult to do but takes a lot of time in the kitchen just checking on the eggplant and cooking it all. So very good.

Going to have more rain today and tomorrow which we need.  Actually I think it will rain for about three - maybe four - days and then stop one day and rain again on  Thursday. Do believe that is what I recall seeing. But often it matters not what they say, the weather just does what it wants to do!!!!

HOpe all have a good day. Nothing much to leave for outside eating - too wet.

@Winifred

Sounds like Florida is the place to be :-)

We never got the snow that the weatherman forecasted.  Not that I am complaining because it is plenty cold here.

I posted this in the Kitchen where Soushi frequents but want to share with you also. Soushi, who use to post here frequently in days gone by and occasionally she has still stopped by, lost her husband Friday evening. So very sad and so very sudden. They only returned from Florida a couple days earlier. Her husband Nelson had been having some serious problems but all were hoping he would be just fine. Prayers go out to Soushi, aka Bev, and her family. This is so heartbreaking.

Oh Freddie I am so sorry to read this about Soushi. Do you think it would be okay for me to post a condolence message over there?

Okay then, I didn't want to intrude on the established circle of friends there.

@Bird mama, don't even think that, you are welcome whenever you want to drop by, I'm sure I speak for all. The post you left for Sushi was lovely, she'll certainly appreciate it.

Hello Fencers, we ended up getting snow yesterday.  There was enough to clean the car off (in the grocery store parking lot) and it clung to trees and grass until the rain came later.

Today, it's in the 50's.

This is weird, even for Michigan ;-)

Hidey Ho people :-)

Sun is shining today and not much going on here other than staying outta trouble at work, lol.

I think my sister may be discharged from the rehab facility today.  She said she is looking forward to sleeping in her own bed :-)
