Re: Anyone else hate Summer?

I HATE, HATE, HATE Summer. I hate summer. Did I mention that I hate summer? The heat and humidity take my breath away. The sun? I do not tan. I don't even burn. Oh, no . . .  the sun gives me a rash. Even if I wear high SPF sunscreen. So if and when I leave my house I must wear long sleeves, usually a heavenly jersey cardigan over my top. If I go for a walk - for my exercise - I add a wide brim hat and fingerless gloves. And always my fit over sunglasses.

I do not even enjoy the green leaves on the trees. They hide the birds and the squirrels that I like to watch. I agree with the poster who said she's been ready for fall since May.

Hugs . . .

I'm going with yes. I use to love summer when I lived in the east bay area of California, but now that I live in central Texas, summer is endless. You know things are bad when the weatherman comes on and says "Today will be hot and sticky, sticky, sticky." Yikes! Opening the front door I'm either hit with air like a blast furnace (bad!) or enveloped in an oppressive steam (worse!). I tell people it feels like I'm in Jamaica, only without the scenery and vacation. The days I feel like I will never be dry again are the worst.

Re: Anyone else hate Summer?

Yes, yes, and YES!   I hate summer so much, and it seems that I hate it more so every year.

I've always hated hot weather but now, with some immune and other health challenges, I just can't even tolerate a little bit of heat.  If it's anything over the 60s and I'm outside I only last a few minutes before I start turning purple and falling out.    60s not so bad but above that I have about 3 minutes.

We didn't used to have such long summer weather here.  It got really hot for a couple of weeks in August and that was most of it.  Now we have months of hot, many weeks in a row of 100+, and much less winter.

I actually considered moving away from here, a few decades ago when I was at a crossroad, and I chose to stay just for the climate.  Back then we had COLD weather from September through April, easily.   Now we have winter broken up with summer-like days throughout.

I don't even know how you manage living in Florida!  I sure couldn't.  Not only for the heat but the humidity.  With asthma, humidity really causes a lot of breathing problems.   It's always been very arid where I live but I'm noticing a lot this summer that some days the humidity is in the 50-70% range.    I sincerely hope that's not going to be the new thing.  It's usually in the teens or less.

I don't just hate it, but I certainly prefer the other seasons. The heat and humidity just suck the life out of me. The older I get the more it seems to affect me, when I know its gonna be super hot out, I either go to town in the morning or wait till evening.

I don't like the bugs that come with it either.

Since it I still getting hotter every summer...and more fires causing smoke pollution and ash drop....yes, I am starting to hate  Summer.  Especially since I have no air conditioning.

Re: Anyone else hate Summer?

It's absolutely wonderful these past few days in NJ.  As a resident now in FL ....I hate everyday no break from hot hot humid days😓😓.  I spend endless hours poolside.

In fact, I'm suppose to fly home tomorrow I've been 🙁 all day.  I miss the 4 seasons especially Fall 🎃🍁🍂 and those wonderful snowy days☃️❄️🌲🎄

@2blonde  Ditto to your comments! Give me summer, sunshine and warm weather. Anything under 70 degrees is bitterly cold. LOL

@BirkiLady  A woman after my own heart!  70 degrees is also my cutoff point........out comes the North Face!  BTW, I'm also a big Birkenstock fan.......have a closet full of them.

Re: Anyone else hate Summer?

Summer, No; Winter, YES

Although I understand where you're coming from.  Fortunately, I can tolerate the heat and humidity (don't like it though) much more than the freezing temps, snow, freezing rain & ice of winter.
