Recently Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 10. I didn't think I needed to change over to 11 because of how I use the computer.
Didn't have a choice earlier in the week as a bug crashed my PC.
Have been using Windows 11 all week, I don't really notice a difference. Anyone else with their experience?

There really isn't much difference between Win10 and Win11 for the user. But Win11 was developed primarily to fix security holes in Win10 so there lies the difference. It's unnoticeable yet the security is there.

Since my old laptop couldn't be upgraded to Windows 11, I bought a new one with Windows 11. I don't see much difference.

I changed over years ago. You can't continue with an OS that is no longer supported (if you're online). Not safe anyway, since you wouldn't be getting security patches. It wasn't a big visual change iirc. About the only thing I can remember is a different start menu and taskbar location. I think I may have moved mine from where MS put it. Mine is at the bottom of the screen. Is that where yours is? I don't tweak things as much as I used to.

I remember when MS came out with Win10. They said it was it going to last a very long time before they would come out with Win11. But then MS came out with Win11 sooner than they anticipated b/c of the security holes they found in Win10. I suspect it won't be long for Win12 to make an entrance in the not so distant future, especially with AI in the mix and all of the security issues that can present.
I read that Win12 is in the works and could possibly get here early 2026. Not officially but that's what I read.

Wonder why MS didn't just patch the security holes in Win10? Guess they were too volatile??

My desktop and our laptop are both too old to accept Win 11, so we still have 10. We are still receiving security updates because Microsoft said it you backed up your work and were a previous customer they would add another year free for the updates.

From what I understand MS tried and tried to fix it but failed. Whenever they tried to fix things, it would cause crashes and then they had to go back to square one. Finally they had put an end to it and took Win10 out to pasture.

It was on my HP pc when I bought it a couple years ago--I just switched last year I think, with no problems.

My HP desktop running Win10 was only 5 years old when MS announced the Win11 thing. Unfortuanately my desktop was unable to upgrade to 11 so I had to buy a new one with 11. I was offered one more year of security for Win10 for $30 in order to give me time to buy a new PC. I didn't take that offer. Went to Best Buy and bought an inexpensive desktop which my kids set up for me. Seems so wasteful because there was nothing wrong with my Win10 system. Best Buy took my old PC to recycle I guess.
