Re: Anyone Getting Christmas Cards Yet

@sidsmom  Thanks, but not so smart as battle-scarred.  We had a terrible time stopping papers on vacation for years, and when we moved from our old house some time ago, they forwarded the mail but kept delivering junk mail until the new owners moved in.  We couldn't stop it.  Don't know don't care what happened after that!!!!!

Yes, we are receiving them already, and the 70 cards I mailed out Friday should have arrived at their destinations by today.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten one this early. I took advantage of a rainy day yesterday and completed mine.  I’ll mail them at the end of next week (Dec 7 or 8).

We don't get many Christmas cards.  And we don't ever get any cards in November.

Re: Anyone Getting Christmas Cards Yet

I used to be the first one in our crowd of family/friends to send mine December 1st. Ever since I stopped sending cards, I get none. So I'm thinking they only sent me a card because I sent them one first, not because they really wanted to. This really opened my eyes about how sincere these people really are/were.

I have my cards out but haven't even addressed them yet. I have emphysema and overdid the shoveling of that heavy snow we had here a couple weeks ago, so now on top of that, I have brochitis. Hopefully, I'll get a little pep in my step and get to it. To all you nice folks here, I wish you all a very happy and wonderful holiday season.

Re: Anyone Getting Christmas Cards Yet

i now prefer to call my loved ones during the week between christmas and new year. love being able to hear their voice and catch up on what is going on. so much nicer than a christmas card. years ago it would cost a lot to make a long distance phone call years ago. now, with my cable phone landline and my cell phone, anything within the usa/canada/mexico is free.

i still get the newspaper......actually two. i enjoy holding a paper in my hands and reading it that way. yes, it is thinner, but i do want to make sure my local paper stays in business. they have been around since 1837. i can stop it online when we go away OR donate it for the time we are away.
