I saw today in our informed mail that we're getting a piece of mail today from the IRS. Ugh....I wonder what it's about? Our mailman is running late with all of the Christmas deliveries so we probably won't get our mail until 6:00 or 7:00 tonight.
Just curious.....did anyone else get one recently too??
UPDATE: The letter said they owe us $4.00. Oh my, I'm so glad that's all it was about.

@BunSnoop no I haven't but it could be good news. Yes, the IRS sometimes sends good news.

@BunSnoop it's Christmas. Not everything from IRS is bad, although we are predisposed to think in that direction. Hopefully in the spirit of the season, it brings you good tidings. Good luck!

I don't use that informed delivery service, I want to be totally surprised when my winner notification from Publisher's Clearing House arrives! LOL!

@BunSnoop - I received an email from the company I work for that there was some error on the W2 forms that had to do with how much you can use for child care credits. Since it didn't apply to me, I didn't pay much attention.

Doesnt the IRS send out the forms and instructions for 2021 taxes about this time?

I did receive a letter from the IRS last week telling me that there are many scams going on now. The IRS will never call you, ask for your social security number, etc. or tell you that you owe money and to send it via direct bank deposit, etc.
Everything is done by letter.
I am glad that they are on to these scams as many elderly people fall for it and lose thousands of dollars each year.

@BunSnoop We got a lovely Christmas greeting from the IRS! Hubby made a mistake and we owe about $300! The good news is it could have been worse! Ours is complicated!
Best wishes for all getting these year-end-missives from the friendly IRS!
Maybe you'll get a REFUND! ![]()
