Omg. I read this a few minutes after it was posted & thought what?????
Who would post this -😳😳😳😳 - so I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my thinking.
plus, obviously they have good incomes as they are already preparing a baby room & au pair room (which I know are not cheap for a good one)!
Won't say more because I'm sure her daughter would be appalled this personal info was shared about their "grand total" -- guess each guest invited had a $$$ expectation with their invite to meet the couples "goal"!

Money laundering is referring to currency not checks. I withdrew $2000 and drove to another bank to deposit it into someone else's account as a gift. I did not have an account at that bank and they told me due to money laundering issues, they could only accept a check. Problem was I stopped ordering checks long ago. I had to go back to my bank and get a money order and then the recipient had to wait for it to post to her account. I don't like the 24hr hold if you are not a customer for paper deposits.. I prefer cash. Cash is king or so I thought.

Same for me. I can't imagine that I would have wanted to keep it from her.

I don't know why everyone is so upset; when I read the post, I just took it that the OP was surprised at the amount.
I didn't get the impression she was "bragging."
People talk about everything on here, what's the big deal. No need for a pile-on.

What about opening them with your husband? I think my parents came over to see what we got when we got back from our honeymoon and opened them.

Hopefully including the husband (or wife as the case may be) would be a given. ![]()

he was around for some of them......
we received some prior to the wedding, some at the wedding, and some after the wedding.

The whole thing is just tacky, tacky, tacky. And thinking a mother has to share this information just does not bode well. What else is the mother going to "share" about this couples married life that is not her business to "share". She need to keep her mouth shut! And keep off the boards about her daughter's married life. The sooner she learns the better!

Why would anyone post this kind of information except to brag?
