When our sons were growing up, we were often visited by a grown squirrel who walked into the house one day.

I walked with him to the door, lol!  We named him Fluffy.

@candyagain    That's when squirrels cease being cute.  I wish Carolyn Gracie would read that.

My DH "saved" 3 very young squirrels.  He saw a dead squirrel laying at the bottom of our neighbor's tree and later saw 3 very young, little squirrels on the ground.  He figured the dead squirrel was their mother and he began to feed and put water for them every day.  The were old enough to get up and down the tree, probably went back to their nest and came down to eat.

We have alot of squirrels here as we keep peanuts filled for them and some are very small - we hope those smaller ones are his patients.

@ECBG We had a squirrel that lived in our pear tree in our backyard.  He appeared to have tangled with an animal or perhaps an electric line and lost most of his tail.  He would come up and eat off our carport and we named him Stump, due to the short tail!

We've lived in our very rural are for 47 years. We have many, many squirrels running around, and I see the nests in trees, but I have never, ever seen a baby squirrel!

You should ask my girlfriend if they are adorable. She has been trying to get rid of squirrels in her house for thirty years! You can hear them in the walls. Once one got in and knocked over everything in her living room while she was out. She just got a new roof and was hoping that would help -- nope. She has done everything possible and spent more money on this problem than you can imagine. Squirrels can be destructive, nothing adorable about them. 🐿
