Why do you "need" jeans?   There are many other types of pants, you know.

I need jeans because they are so reliable.  They are warmer than many other types of pants which is good on foggy days.  I can get them dirty and not feel guilty.  I can wear them to a park or beach and feel free to sit on a rock or log and not worry about it.

And anyone wearing a decent pair of jeans is always right in style.

My mom wore an apron like this:

I have to admit, I own several of these and I wear them when I don't want to ruin my clothes cooking, or if I'm housecleaning and need pockets to carry stray items from room to room.  Admittedly not stylish, but very practical.

Re: Actually, June Cleaver was pretty savvy.

That kind of "apron" pictured is what my mother used to wear. Me, I have several sleeveless pull over "dresses" (with nothing on underneath because I can work up a sweat when cleaning) that I use for housework. Can't stand anything else.
