@Shanus I think the platform was taken away from us because we can't discuss those topics here. Between the posting rules & the nastiness they get poofed.
I wonder if QVC would consider adding a Political or Current Events forum & loosening the rules a little?
@NicksmomESQ Wonderful suggestion, but if we participated in an argument over whether Nancy should dye her hair or let the grey in front grow out (I include myself with an opinion), how would we ever agree to disagree, with decorum, on a political issue?

Personally, the snide snotty remarks of some, are such a turnoff, and not even to me, but I know it's hurtful. Who needs to waste their time here with the snide remarks. There's some not a lot. But just enough to take the enjoyment out of visiting with friends here.
Some subjects keep repeating over and over again. But then, if you've been here awhile, that's a sure bet.
I miss some of the ones who were here. Maybe I'm olding out. ???????
I did get tired of the worn out phrase, "that's just the way things are now" because I don't subscribe to that covering all things.
Anyway, we can't get in to see about our shots the lines are loaded. By the time we call again, pretty sure all slots will be gone. So I'm pretty frustrated right now. Yup, all filled, we have to wait.

I feel that the forum is still pretty active. I've been here forever. I don't visit the beauty or fashion forums very often so can't comment about the activity there.
I would hate for the forums to go away. I really enjoy them. I'm glad they don't allow political posts. People are not civil in those discussions. You can tell when the posts start leaning that way.

My opinion is that once someone posts their opinion, their thought, their experience - there's going to be five others that jump on them, tell them to "turn the channel", or "don't watch if you don't like it", etc. It gives people a headache and they just don't bother anymore. Where it used to be comaraderie, is now a lot of contention.

Oh please no political boards! It's bad enough that some like to try and sneak them in to see if they can get away with posting them. Maybe if people who intentionally posted topics that aren't allowed would get slapped they would stop. Those posts only divide this place into sides. But then I do believe some want a one sided board where everyone has the same ideas about things.

@NicksmomESQ wrote:@MalteseMomma @jeanlake I agree with both of you. The vitriol & nastiness turns a lot of people away from posting or starting threads. Some people purposely misinterpret & twist your words just so they can get their digs in.
There were several things I've wanted to share with my friends here in the last few months.I could have used the support.I chose not too because of the few haters.
@NicksmomESQ That's quite sad if you feel you can't express yourself here. It didn't used to be that bad. I'm sorry.

I've been here much longer and I remember the days when there was very little moderation here (before the Social Team) and it was like the 'wild, wild west'.
Insults, name calling and much worse between posters was outrageous!
IMO, behavior like that is what's led to what some posters now feel is over moderation.
We can't have it both ways, either 'civility' or 'anything goes'.
@KingstonsMom I personally think the mods are fair (again my opinion) but it's the
snide remarks from others- like the one certain poster that, for some unknown reason, dislikes me terribly. I consider the source and try to get along, that's been how I am ever since QVC had chat. Oh well, can't please everyone, right?

I think it does not hurt to ask if qvc could be more tolerate in not deleting post, it is up to them.We should support that.

@Shanus Lol! That's funny.
It's done in other places successfully. If you think Nancy should go grey & I don't that shouldn't become an argument. If you have an opinion about politician X & I hold the opposite opinion we should be able to have an intelligent exchange & move on without malice.
I'm sure you have friends you disagree with. I do. I have a close friend who I love dearly. We disagree on a lot. We discuss, sometimes chuckle over our disagreement & move on.

I would agree with those who said that it's generally not worth the trouble to create a new thread or start a new topic.
Often, one of the first responses is "who cares?" Why bother when that is the mindset of many on the boards.
As for the scarcity of new posters, have you seen how they frequently are treated? The Welcome Wagon jumps on them quickly, I think to keep newcomers out.
