@Shanus   Happy Anniversary!  That is wonderful!  I am at about 45 years married... I really almost forget as we never celebrate ... the day just passes. Too many years I guess. We do not celebrate birthdays either... it is just us so we stopped celebrating years and years ago.

Congratulations are indeed in order after 53 years of wedded bliss.  DH and I are working on our 47th year and cannot believe how the years have flown by.........to love and to cherish till death do us part..........Enjoy your special day.

Blessings and much continued happiness and good health on this your 53 rd !!!

We are looking at 55 in early September and honestly don't know how and where those years went.  It has been  just the two of us all that time.  We eat dinner side by side at home; work on outside / inside projects together; he has always golfed; I do my things; he loves to cook / I like to eat !  Now he has retired from law practice and life is more calm....we can take off anytime for our shore home, stay as long as we want in FL during the winter.

Hopefully, all his heart issues are resolved and will stay that way.  From the moment I met him at work after college, I knew he was the one.  Still is !!!

@Shanus   Wow - talk about a milestone, you have us beat. We've been together for 48 years and every day I wonder how and why. But down deep I guess I really do know the answer to this just as you and you lover do.

It takes A LOT of long hard work to get to the point you and your mate (and us too) have been through, what we've gone through, and what we are currently going through. We made a commitment didn't we WAY back when to be true to ourselves first and then to the mate we found, we chose, we thought way back when, this THIS is the person I truly believe I can take and keep forever. 

God has blessed you Ms Shanus and your mate to make it this far for ALL the years you have made it through to STILL respect, like, love and have chosen to keep going.
