For me the shipping alone is worth it. I’ve placed 84 orders these last 6 months. I use it for all sorts of things since I don’t get out shopping much.

I discontinued my cable service and went with Firestick for which I need Prime.  I don't order much from Amazon but am saving considerably on tv costs.  The only streaming service I pay for is CBS because most of my fav shows are on this station.  At $6.99 a month, it's worth it to me for streaming service.  Also, since I have an Amazon tablet, Prime gives a lot there as well.  I can have Alexa service without purchasing a separate device.

While I knew that Prime had an increase, I was taken aback while checking my statement.  I always do it by phone.  The charge was $126 plus change.  I love Amazon but I'm questioning whether I need Prime.  I don't do anything other than placing orders, no streaming, books, or any of the other services.  Nothing i order is so important that i need it within a couple of days.  Like everybody else, Amazon's prices have gone up and I can buy locally for less.  I guess I'm trying to talk myself out of Prime.  With all my other memberships, the cost has risen to around $700 a year.  Those that have Prime, do you think it's worth it?

I'm with you, bootsanne.  Shipping is quick enough already and I don't use any of the additional services.  I'd rather shop locallly than put more bucks into Bezos's pockets.

I saw the price increase but since I share an account with my son we split the cost.  He uses it more than I do but I do listen to the music and order some items that arrive in a timely manner. Just today I received an order that I checked "no rush" but still received within 2 days  coming from Texas. Perhaps you should consider sharing an account with family if you still want to keep it.

SN: If the cost continues to increase I will consider discontinuing.

Worth it to me.... I get things next day or in two days.... no wait... better price on most things than anywhere else.. The convience of shopping and getting it FAST  is very much worth it.

We love it and only use the free shipping and for movies but well worth it for us.  Heck, for my orders alone it more than pays for itself.  I get several packages each week and even get many drugstore items.  It's so easy to sit home and order when you find you need something.  No wasting gas, having to get dressed to go out, find parking, put up with rude people and waiting in line to checkout, waste time looking for what you want (and often paying a higher price just to not waste any more time).  My time is worth way more than we pay for Prime!

Mine renews on June 15 for $119.

I doubt I will renew.  I got it this year because of a special rate promo.

I never paid shipping before this year and I never watch anything on Prime video or listen to Prime Music on my Echo devices, I listen to my own music that I purchased.

There's no value for me.

I cancelled mine when it went to $119.  I started at $79, then was ok with $99, but they lost me at $119.  Should have lost me at $99 because I rarely used Prime video; more often I use Hulu and Netflix.  And I never need anything in 2 days.

I cancelled in January and had completely forgotten about it until I saw this post.  I thought it was humorous that they asked if I was sure I wanted to cancel and listed all the things I was giving up -- as if I couldn't have subscribed to Prime again at any time!

I typically only use amazon at Christmas and when my niece and nephews have birthdays. Their birthdays are the same month. So I will just pay the monthly prime charge in August and Dec. if I order early enough I don’t do it though.

I’m a heavy Amazon user. I order so much, but I have never needed PRIME to do this. Everything I’ve ordered has had free shipping and all my deliveries have been speedy. The only reason I might ever get PRIME is for videos.
