@cheriere   Thanks. Growing up in NC, there was very little acceptance of Jewish people. I didn't like it, felt left out, but learned to respect my religion and myself. I think it helped me to be more tolerant of everyone.

This is my absolute worse Christmas. Dad died 4 days ago. I lost 3 other loved ones this year. I'm in isolation with covid. 2 of my siblings are isolating with covid. I miss my family.

I'm so sorry to hear this holiday season has been so difficult.  My hope is that the new year brings you peace. Heart

Thank you.

I have the most incredible dog. He is a rescue and we will celebrate 10 years together in January. He will be 12 in 2 days. He can tell when I'm upset and will put his head on my lap or shoulder. If I cry, he's right there patting me with a paw or snuggling or watching me to be sure I'm ok. He is my shadow and makes me happy and laugh. I'd be lost without him.

this is such a thoughtful post! I hope your day is lovely!

I watched another Rob Lowe movie "About Last Night" which I had seen many years ago when it was first released. I had forgotten a lot of it!

I didn't know that's where you grew up. I can only imagine your experience. ❤️. Well, perhaps that's what's made you such a kind, wonderful person you are today!  Much respect to you!  😊❤️❤️❤️

@cheriere   I grew up, married and still live in NC. Not a lot has changed here for many minorities. Thanks for the compliment.

DD and I are on are own today--thankfully !! We will be in comfy clothes and will be eating very well with  leftovers from our family to-do last night!! Have an eggnog french toast casserole to bake for breakfast too. It is grey and rainy here (PNW) so not much outdoor activities planned--- I have spent a few days cooking and then cleaning up from cooking....a never ending job these days... and still have more cleaning up to do--but not til later!

Re: ALONE TODAY?

[ Edited ]

I usually cook and have a nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner with my son, daughter and older sister, but this year my daughter, son and I are sick with the same upper respiratory virus/sinus issues.  So, I told my sister, who is just getting over bronchitis, as much as I would want her to come over, it's best if she doesn't.  I don't want her getting what we have.  I'll cook dinner today because I have the meat in the fridge with the sides ready to be cooked, and either my son or I will drop off at my sister's front door a nice plate of the dinner I make.  She lives alone, so I'm sure she'll appreciate having dinner delivered to her from one of us.  When we're all feeling better, we'll get together to exchange a few small gifts.

@CalminHeart  I hope you feel better soon.  Positive vibes for a much better 2024 for you.  Hang in there!

To be honest not my best Christmas either.  I tried I really did but just not feeling it like I should.   I do have family and not alone but something is missing.

I hate when I get like this.  I'm watching Scrooge now and maybe that will help.
