Who cares what THEY say???? Unless THEY pay my bills, THEIR words have no impact on me or my actions.

Omg, that so funny. In that regard, I have two excellent role models who are dear friends, each about 20 years older than I am. One always says that the older she got "the wilder she got" and thats true, she was conservative and "proper" when I met her 30something years ago. Let's just say she has a rather unique sense of style. I suppose you could call it "gypsy chic". Hubby once said "well, she will never get lost in crowd". the other one is 74 and retired but she still dresses like she popped out of the pages of Vogue. Even to go to the Post Office. She rather be stared at than over looked. I do hope that when I am 80, I'll be strutting my stuff in outfits that leave people saying "what the heck is she wearing?"

At a dr appt yesterday, the dr told me he was adjusting my meds " since you are elderly and may metabolize the drug differently"....elderly? I have never been referred to or thought of myself as elderly! When did 66 become elderly? I asked him if he charged extra for calling me elderly....I think then he realized it was an indelicate thing to say!
i envision someone with a walker and white hair when I hear that word....I have neither. What do think elderly looks like?

What???? Was he a 30something? Honestly, today 66 is just the upper reaches of middle age. My friend is a physician and she said there is some discussion about moving the "elderly" mark from 65 to 70 or even 72 because people are living so much longer now and are so healthy that the 60's really are middle age. I had my yearly physical two weeks ago and I had it with a NP who I didn't really know. Just saw her once before for something minor. We spent a lot of time talking about my health. Then she asked "are you still working?" I said yes, of course. She said "Good for you". I was taken aback because she said it like I should be retired at 57....lol She's probably 30, my girls are 30. So I forgave her...lol
