I went to PT today and the Physical Therapist commented that my glutes were super tight. I told her too bad those tight glutes did appear on the exterior of my buttocks and she lost it . Smiley LOL

I must be dumb.  I don't get it.....

I always had/have a "stick out" butt.  LOL!!!!

So, is that it?  Sorry, it's early in the morning and this thunder and lightning is getting me crazy!

I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee so my brain is working at 90% and I think she meant she wishes her butt was nice and tight like her glutes. I left 10% room for error in case I'm wrong.

Ummm, glutes and butt are the same thing. I don't get what the OP is saying either.

The glutes, or gluteal muscles, can become tight after too much sitting, overuse, or overexertion in athletic performance. Tight glutes can lead to a number of other injuries, so it's important to warm them up well before exercising. It's also important to stretch your glutes after you work out.

I get it!  My translation is that INSIDE her glute muscels may be tight,  but they are not showing that on the OUTSIDE.  I think she's just saying she wishes her behind were firmer.

@Calcgirl  If you've built muscle to tighten your glutes, you'd have one good looking butt. If glutes are just tight without having exercised them, it can cause lower back pain, tight hamstrings, etc. Stretching helps.

Hot diggity, I did not know that! I thought they were in the front somewhere from the waist up. Thanks for straightening me out!

Stress and tension can tighten muscles, sometimes seen in shoulders and back.  Maybe, that's what her PT was saying.

So if you have a big butt you have a gluteous maximus?
