A HORSE BY ANY OTHER NAME.....

Call it social distancing, restricted personal interaction, quarantine, self quarantine, self distancing, restricted personal contact, isolation, personally imposed isolation, chosen distancing or physical distancing or lockdown. No matter what you call it, we're stuck inside, at home. Call it what it is. The pits!!!

It is the pits!  Fortunately, here in Chicago the weather has still been wintery.  Once it warms up, I wonder if people will continue to stay inside.  Another month of this and I will be ready for either the loony bin or AA meetings!

You're not stuck at home, you're SAFE at home.  One word can change your attitude, and one cough can change your life.

@Shanus This will help:

May we who are merely inconvenienced

Remember those whose lives are at stake.

May we who have no risk factors

Remember those most vulnerable.

May we who have the luxury of working from home

Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.

May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close

Remember those who have no options.

May we who have to cancel our trips

Remember those that have no safe place to go.

May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market

Remember those who have no margin at all.

May we who settle in for a quarantine at home

Remember those who have no home.

As fear grips our country,

let us choose love.

During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other,

Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen.

I know all of you here will appreciate this, because I know you think this way!

@SeaMaiden @Scooby Doo All I have to do is glance at my husband and I'll do anything to avoid risk of this.  We're in the high risk group and I think--one little thing and someone is gone.

People have the right to voice their frustrations, without being put down, or chastised, or reprimanded that being indoors is the safest place to be.

There is no need to lay a guilt trip on us.

We know to be thankful for what we do have, and more importantly, we are thankful for what we have.

We don't need to be reminded of that.

We all know that being inside is the safest place to be.

But we can still have feelings of frustrations about it!

@Shanus Can you get outside?  Go for a walk?  There are lots and lots of people out walking where I live!  People, dogs, a cat or two on a leash.  Even today when the wind is fierce, they are out!!

Re: A HORSE BY ANY OTHER NAME.....

At least I have the ability/need to go into our business a couple days a week.  I gets me out of the house but DH is there as well.  I have never coped to well with someone around me all the time...I guess I better get used to it for the short term.

I did go to the other room earlier this week just for some perosnal space.
