If by any chance you have experienced a Loss during the past year, or even longer ago, have you listened to "Different Kind of Christmas", by Mark Schultz?
This song had the most AMAZING effect on me, and having now listened to it several times, I've realized a sense of peace about the loss of my dad that I've really been missing for years.
I hope if you listen to all the words, all the way through, you will be able to find in it what I have found.
Blessings of the Season to all who are experiencing difficult situations.

I'll have to check it out - although I've done so much crying this month - miss my 16 1/2 year old dog that I lost in June - Christmas really isn't the same this year without him.

Violann not ... I found your song online and it is wonderful !! I also miss my family no longer here ... I actually live in the house I grew up in so there are memories galore ... I have a hard time listening to old favorites like "I'll Be Home for Christmas" but this song makes you want to start anew !! Thanks for the recommendation ... I love it !! Merry Christmas ...

Violann, I believe those who have passed on are still with us, in some sense. The soul doesn't die. I was thinking about this while I was decorating for Christmas this year.
I thought about those family members that were no longer with us, including those of the cat and dog variety. And, I realized that I was decorating and going to have a joyous Christmas......just in case they were able to "look in" and share the time with us. You never know.....

What a sweet post! My mom died right before Christmas when DS was one year old. He just turned 21. It doesn't get any easier.

I have to agree, as long as you can remember your good times, you can smile.

This is not about a song but a memory that a post brought up for me today.
When my favorite and much loved Aunt passed, that first Christmas dinner with the family and friends at table was going to be very difficult. Rather than ignore the heavy loss we all felt, I said grace and then saluted her, thanking her for all the wonderful meals and gatherings she had hosted.
You could feel the group relax as they began talking about special memories they had of her. Years later, this still brings tears to my eyes. As I have mentioned in other posts, she makes her presence felt in different ways.
May peace and joy fill your hearts as you celebrate the holidays.
Merry Christmas and happy, hopeful 2016 !!!!!!!!!!
