54 yrs Congratulations!!! That does not happen much nowadays. Our 40th is coming up on the 28th.

First of all congratulation!

Second, my story is similar to yours. We met on the dance floor 50 years ago, Halloween. I was brought to THE dance by a guy friend who told me if I went (I was relaxing and had no intention of leaving the house) I would meet my husband. So he convinced me, picked me up and at the dance a person said "would you like to dance with me." Next day I called a girl friend and told her I had met my husband. When she asked his name, I told her I FORGOT TO ASK HIM. So I had to go back two weeks later to find him. Heck, I predicted he would be mine. In any case he proposed Christmas Eve, told our parents New Years Eve and got married in June.

What is even more interesting is: everyone knew him but me. We crossed paths but never met. And the DANCE request... WOULD YOU LIKE TO DANCE WITH ME was a prediction.

We became avid square dancers and ballroom dancers. We dance 6-7 days a week. It was a lifetime prophecy. Soulmate and best friend forever.

Thanks all for your wonderful responses!! I truly enjoyed how you met your husbands too and some similar. Thanks for sharing. What we did was stay home, my suggestion, because it's cold out and windy, and I made a good chicken dinner, and we had a candlelight dinner with our good dishes and nice tablecloth, and some wine. It looked very nice, and he surprised me with coming home with a dozen pink roses!! Didn't expect that at all.

We'll be playing Canasta soon!! Love that game!
