I crochet, nap, or doze, and in winter, jig saw puzzles.  Can read if I want.  My dog needs a certain amount of attention.  It goes so fast.

@crawford5153   I also should have mentioned online courses that are available.  Road Scholar has several that are free and go to different parts of the world.  Many colleges and universities also have courses that are either free or low cost.  And there's always learning a new language.  It's up to you to choose what appeals to you and make a commitment.  No reason to be "bored" even if your mobility options are limited.

Can you drive to the senior center?

I could drive but would need a wheel chair right beside the car door to even get out.  I cannot walk even 2 steps. Do not think this would work for me but thanks for mentioning.

@crawford5153 : I understand. I am 69 and had to medically retire in 2000. Eye doctor strongly suggested to stop driving, because of bad eyes and nerves. Last two years using a stand up walker. It takes me a long time to get anything done.I do have days that I get bored.

Never found a hobby or craft. Got tired of reading and watching movies. Don't like doing puzzles or color books.

I hope you can find something to help.

I think we had the same Mom.😉

@crawford5153  I stay pretty busy with my husband and house, yard things,2 dogs. I'm an introvert and enjoy being one.   But when I get bored I read or color.  I have lots of coloring books and pencils and markers.  It relaxes me and time flies.  They have some very nice coloring books for adults. Also, I've bought some sketch books and watercolor paint. I have ZERO talent but I like to just fool around painting.

I hope you find something you like.  Keep us posted on what you're up to!

@MoJoV & @Shelbelle my Mom too!  She would also say that as long as you liked yourself you would never be lonely either.

How do you ladies who are no longer working and at home 24/7 spend your days?

I get so bored anymore and find it difficult to pass the time.  There is only so much I can do as I depend on an electric scooter to get around since I cannot walk.

Never thought I would ever feel this way.

I've been retired 7 years. I don't spend all my days at home.

I mow, plow snow, garden, walk my dog, donate 6 hours one day a week at a charity, help at my church, exercise, read, belong to a senior center and enjoy occasional meals and activities, and I have a great social life.

Right now, one of my brothers (also retired) and I are cleaning out our Dad's home because he moved to assisted living. Before Dad moved, we took care of him, drove him where he needed to go, did grocery shopping, spent time, etc etc. We still see Dad almost every day.

I would encourage you to join a senior center. Most have exercise rooms, 1-2 meals a day, group activities, games, social time outside the center, etc etc. You could make a good friend or two.

You sound exactly like myself.  Seems it is difficult to find anything to hold my interest; just get bored.

@crawford5153 : Yesterday, contractor finished enlarging our laundry closet so every thing in house needs cleaning. The laundry closet is in our combined dinning and family room. It has taken me all morning to do 1\2 of the room. DH had to clean the ceiling fan. I just finished the windows and blinds. Still need to dust everything and then clean the laminate floor. I am really worn out and body hurts all over. Next week will clean one room every other day. This was one way to force me to do a complete fall cleaning. 😀😀
