First, consider the weather, could be extremely hot and humid, we went in August and it was simply awful and unbearable. Will be very long days with a baby that young, I could never do it, but the younger moms today are much more flexible than I ever was, I see it with my daughter and her two very young children. If it was me I would wait until the baby was old enough to actually enjoy it, my youngest was 4 when we went .

@crazered, I live in Orlando and made the mistake of visiting the parks one sum mer....never ever again..the weather was too hot and what I didn't realize was there is no shade!!! This is quite a problem when waiting in line for the rides.. Should you decide to go...please do not make the mistake I made...wearin a long 100% cotton sundress..I had a heat rash so bad..I began to bleed....they have First Aid stations arround the parks...but the gauze and tape given to me wouldn't stay affixed to my thigh! My other concern is the baby...will they allow the baby on the rides?

On a brighter note, there is a group called Jody finds the Travel Deals on facebook...Deals on the parks and resorts. Have fun!

Is this the only time they'll ever get to go? Do you think you'll become the unboard baby sitter so they can ride the rides (kids)? If you do go be sure that baby won't be getting a sunburn. That would be so painful for a 5 month old. Grandma, I think you're right. Too young for that. Is it one day or longer? Why don't you stay home and sit the baby and let them go? That would solve a lot. That's a lot of walking as you get older!!!

@crazered

I'd definitely say to wait till the baby is older if that's an option. I'd also consider a different time of the year. I went this past February with my daughters cheerleading team, that's where nationals are held, and the weather was great!! Sunny and highs in the 80's. the lines were long on the more popular rides, but not unbearable. I couldn't even imagine taking a small child in June- I just imagine the weather and lines for the rides.

We go to dworld all the time, for many years. We took my granddaughter when she was two months old. It was October, cooler, and there were three adults to one baby.

Each time of year has pros and cons. In the summer, it is hot, but the parks and pools stay open longer hours so you have more time and feel less pressure to see and do. Go back to ur room in the heat of the day (the best reason to stay on property if you can). Other times of the year the weather is cooler but can be rainy. Lines aren't as long, but the parks and pools close earlier.

Also Disney has made strides in recent years to put more of the waiting areas under shade. Fantasyland in the magic kingdom will be crowded no matter when you go. Weekends in the parks can also be more crowded so weekdays are better IMO.

There are baby care stations plus nursing rooms, in some of the parks. Magic kingdom in particular has a nice one. If you are a Chase card holder of any kind (debit/ credit whatever) there's a very nice rest station in World Showcase in EPCOT. Refreshments, bathrooms, places to charge phones and relax for a few minutes. So between the rides and other offerings you can get out of the heat.

Go, have fun, that's my advice. HTH....edited to add....dworld is too big and has so much going on that trying to get much info into a reply is a challenge.
