Hi all. I got rid of my luggage and bought new last year.

However, I only purchased a "european sized" carry on and not USA.

My question is I am traveling to Boston amd Ca[e Cod soon and wondered if I can use my European sized carry on too or do I have to buy the USA one as well.

I also purchased the "travel pro" 29' big suitcase, but for a week only need the 25" for this trip as it's shorter. Oh well, might as well get the whole collection if I need to.

Thanks in advance!

@Pink123 I took a flight on Alaska Airlines from my city of San Francisco to visit San Diego and I used a Large Vera Bradley cotton duffel bag and its dimensions are 22"x11.5"x11.5" so 45 linear inches and the limit for Alaska Airlines was 45 linear inches for a free carry on so I packed a week's worth of clothes in my carry on duffel bag and got to bring it on the flight for free. I think that your 25" for this trip should be fine, but I recommend to check your airline's website to double check their required dimensions of luggage. Happy traveling!

European carry on requirements are slightly smaller than US carry on requirements. So you should be fine. However, like others have said, I recommend checking the airline websites. I've gotten used to the smaller carry on (it's only an inch or to either way) and I always use my "European" carry on now.

Agree with previous posters about checking with the airline. The requirements vary. However, did I read this correctly and you want to take a 25" suitcase as a carryon? I'm sure that won't work. Maximum is usually 22". But then I didn't realize there's a "European" sizing??

No, the 25" is a check for flight of course. I'm talking about that one silly inch European carry on which I think is kind of crazy. its' one inch either way different.

I have seen flight attendant's take of carry on's and have them checked.

I would check the airline for the measurements. The airlines are becoming very strict about carryon luggage. The last few flights I have taken, when I checked in the day before I was given the option to check my bag with out additional charge. My last flight was delayed because a passenger was angry because there was no more room to bring his luggage on the plane. He was getting loud and fussy! He soon calmed down when he started getting dirty looks and one gentleman told him to sit his tush down!( he used much stronger language)! Enjoy your trip!
