Airfare sales UNREAL prices today!!!!

I know many refuse to fly Frontier airlines BUT for me it works. I travel very light -- carry my VB grand traveler bag so I don't pay luggage & don't buy a seat. Today, I booked round trip ticket for December (Tampa to Philadelphia) for $30.15! I figured what the heck I'd go home for a pre Christmas visit.

I'm here now and booked a ticket back to Tampa for $28 on Tuesday.

Southwest also had $97 fares today and other airlines too. I had heard Amtrak also was running some great deals today.

Being flexible I always try to grab these cheap fares to just come home for a visit.

Just thought if anyone was looking for cheap fares I'd share.

NO they have super cheap fares but if you want a certain seat, ie, aisle or close to front of plane you can buy from $18-50😳 -- I'll take what they assign Free! & if you take carry on $39-43 fee or checked bag $40-49.

I'm cheap!!!

I wouldn't fly them - for any price. My best friend's daughter was on a flight from Orlando, the plane malfunctioned (engine fire, I think they said).....emergency landing and she was stuck taking another airline home. I wouldn't feel comfortable with them.

A plane manlfunction can happen on any airline and it does.

I have flown Frontier without any issue as has my DH. However, it's not an airline I would choose to fly if I had to be somewhere at a set time because they are known to cancel flights on a whim. I know a few people that had that problem and it was days before Frontier could get them on another flight to their destination.

I like them because of their nonstop flights. I wish they still flew between Cleveland and Nashville but that itinerary was dropped.

Well, good for those that are willing to roll the dice with them. I’m not. No interline agreements for bags, no re-booking on another carrier in the case of cancellations or delays makes then a no go for me. No LCC’s for me. Ever.

And by the time you’ve paid the fee for a seat assignment, a carry-on bag, etc., how much have you actually saved? I priced out a one way ticket on Allegiant, GRR-SRQ, to get a family member home. After all of the additional fees, Delta was actually $30 cheaper. And they’ll rebook you on another carrier if something goes sideways. And transfer your bags.

We live in SW FL and our daughters have moved to Vegas. We all fly Frontier back and forth numerous times a year through Tampa. As said, we do personal item that fits under the seat and don't care where we sit. They seem to offer low fares every 2 weeks. We often take our small dog to Vegas with us and most time we pay more for her to fly than for the humans.

absolutely true if I must be at destination for something special I always go 2 days before. Plus, they only fly certain days.

Like I stated I've never had issues but my friends flying to Orlando have. This trip they asked for volunteers to take next flight due to "overbooking" I couldn't as I had wedding but if they ask me Monday I'll be first to say yes! They offered $300 voucher and that's lots of flights for me🙂

Thats not always true. They had cancelled my flight last year and I needed to get back for medical procedure. They said I needed to pay for flight on another carrier then be reimbursed. I declined this offer and yes lots of ###@@@@ but I was put on SW flight same day & they paid.

I personally have been flying Frontier 8+ years and this was probably only the 2nd time cancelled for other than weather related issues. They've become better over the years IMO.

yup those fees have tripled since Spirit (which I hate) bought them 3 years ago.

I mail a USPS box flat rate if I need certain clothes. It cost me $18 this time.

We always fly Frontier if we can, but we've had issues.

First, one main reason we let DS go to college on the other side of the country was because they flew from the small airport 10 minutes from our house. We went for orientation - easy flight. They discontinued their flights two weeks before he started college!

I spent a lot of time on Kayak finding affordable flights for him.

No Frontier flights for a while.

Then they started a route at a major airport about 1-1/2 hours from us. We had one main issue last year - his last year. The early morning Monday flight that would get him there in time for classes was cancelled on our way to the airport. I called them when we returned home.They had the crew, but no plane (?). They offered to fly him out that night to Denver, put him up overnight, then put him on a flight that would get him in late Tuesday evening. His total flying time would be over 20 hours. Of course all of the other flights were "last minute" fares. There was another Frontier flight leaving at the same time Wednesday morning. Since he would miss two days of classes either way, I told him to email his professors, and we would send him back on that Wednesday flight.

Then there was his graduation. Our early morning flight out was delayed 4 hours. Since we didn't have to be there that day, it was just a minor inconvenience to us all.

I will still take their fares over any others. And as others have said, if you can fit the days they fly into your schedule, and just take a carry-on bag, you can't beat the price!

FYI... I am the idiot sitting next to you who ALWAYS overpacks so I have to check a bag; pays too much for a last-minute ticket; and routinely forgets to bring reading material and snacks on long flights! 🙄

A LCC is a low cost carrier. Southwest, Allegiant, Frontier, & Spirit are all LCC’s, with Southwest being the original.
