Carroll's Creek......great Brunch, too!

Uncle Julio's.......Mexican

Reynolds Tavern...........historic house turned into restaurant, has an outside patio with music and has afternoon tea, too!

Lewnes Steak House..........expensive but really good!

So many to chose from!

Good suggestions in this thread. Depends on what you're in the mood for when you go. Galway Bay is great - we love their corned beef poppers. Severn Inn was excellent - it looks a little dated from the outside, but the menu was very good and the views of the Naval Academy Bridge and the river are TDF. Try to sit outside if the weather cooperates.

Harry Browne's is also good (although parking is torture). Right across from the statehouse, has a nice menu and it is in a very historic part of town. We also like Lewnes Steakhouse.

I think our "favorite" spot to eat in Annapolis is Mission BBQ. It's a local chain that has recently branched out to other states.

ETA - also recommend Mike's Crabhouse. It is a lot of fun to get a hammer with your entree but it's worth all the work.

We frequently drive to Annapolis for concerts at Ramshead Tavern....but we are only an hour away, and never stay over.

I know there a few B&Bs in the area if you are interested in staying someplace other than a hotel.

i am less than an hour away, but if we are going out we are also usually drinking and out late. it would just be easier to stay there.....and a good excuse to explore and eat the next day also.

We go to downtown Annapolis often. Our mainstays are the Normandy Cafe, Middleton Tavern, and grabbing sandwiches and sitting down by the docks to people watch. Downtown Annapolis is a great walking destination - be sure to explore the side streets going up and down the hill from the docks to the State Capital building. Enjoy!
