We used to work in Princeton for many years and know the area. We would like to rent a nice townhouse or apartment home. We've had enought of hi-rise living and just want a little more peace and quiet. Any ideas??

I work in Princeton and live a little north of there; you didn't say if you're retirement age or if you're still working. If it's the former, there are many 55+ communties in Monroe and Cranbury. Plainsboro also has lots of townhouse communities.

My husband worked in Princeton for many years before he retired. We still go onto route1 to shop and it can get pretty congested.

We live in Bucks Co, PA and they are currently building a new bridge to replace the old Scudder's Falls bridge between PA & NJ. Towns along the river are nice....New Hope in PA or across the river in Lambertville in NJ have lots of interesting things to do plus good shopping & restaurants.

As for townhomes or apartments in the immediate Princeton/Lawrencville area I would check out the City Data dot com forum. They have a lot of information on almost every town or major area across the US and you can ask questions there.

We lived in Princeton for 30+ years. It's been a few years but if you are looking for town house or apartment living, Princeton Junction, Plainsboro, Cranbury or Lawrenceville would be the best areas to look. Congestion is a big problem. The biggest problem is, when roads were built, the area was sparsely populated. Now there are still the same roads and the population has grown exponentially.

Way out of my price range. Not for the faint of heart. A lot of people from NY and NJ move here to Pa. because it's less expensive, but with all of them moving here, it is also getting more costly anymore.

I moved from the Princeton area over 10 years ago -- my family is still there....our main reason for moving was the outrageous property taxes. (Grew up in Washington xing - Hopewell area -- wonderful area.)

Beautiful area but couldn't afford it once the taxes skyrocketed...we weren't too far from Rider College.

Lots of 55 communities but I could think of other things to do with $9,000 +/year in taxes.

If you are looking for a smaller over 55 community -- Traditions Federal Point is quiet, nice & well maintained. I have friends who live there -- they have 2 bedroom/loft style, 2 car garage, 15+ years old, nice clubhouse, but no pool. I think taxes are about $6500/year. They are quads -- (off Bunker Hill Road - close to 95 corridor).

Another one I like is on Denow Road. I think it's called Versailles- built by Toll Brothers. They are also building new one on Rt. 206S (across from Rider College) starting at $550,000😳

If we stayed I would have moved to Bucks County (New town, Feasterville, etc.) since tax brackets are lower and more house for your money.

That is the main reason we moved.
