I have been with QVC for so many years (probably around 30). I have seen hosts come and go. Please never get rid od David Venable. He is your rock that keeps this show going. I also love Mary, Leah, and Alberti.

I like Shawn but she needs to tone it down a notch.

I do believe having hosts on here like Mally and Kim should not happen. They are just too silly acting. They only want to sell their product and should not be hosts.

Valerie is a keeper because she is so genuine.

Tara is a keeper also she has been there as long as I have known and I have bought many Temptations products.

I hope this doesn't make anyone mad but this is what I have seen over the last few years that needs to be fixed.

I don't think Mally and Kim are hosts.

If you have watched QVC for a long time (like me), you should have a better understanding of the company.

Hosts come and go--for them it is just a job, and they can eventually get tired, or bored, or want to retire, or move to a different work experience. Hosts may have long hours, late nights, weekend work, and many other challenging requirements. They have to go through a lot of training and many meetings.

Yes, some stay overly long, and may have to have their contracts cut by QVC, but that is the way with all employers.

Really, hosts are only any good if they are SELLING--QVC does not really care about our opinions about the hosts and their personalities--they just care if we are BUYING and keeping the company profitable. Hosts are only one part of QVC.

Probably even more important are VENDORS. Are they bringing great products? Are they selling out? Kim is a vendor. She is a multimillionaire and can walk away whenever she feels like it, and she can act more or less however she wishes on air if she is making the company and herself a financial windfall. Valerie is also a very succesful vendor. Mally was also a vendor at one point, but she seems to have migrated to a different role on QVC.

Noone is going to "fix" anything. QVC just wants people to buy, buy, buy so they can stay in business. Maybe there will be no hosts or vendors in the future, similar to Amazon. People seem to buy from Amazon all the time without needing hosts or vendors.

Americans love their online shopping and home delivery!!

Unfortunately I have to agree with FancyPhillyshopper. It's a bleak assessment but it's spot on. I think the problem is when does it cross the line from being a serious vendor or show host to being infotainment? You need to be personable and convey knowledge of the product without being silly or ridiculous.

I have to disagree with much of your perspective, though I do appreciate some points.

Whether people on this board like or dislike a host, a vendor or a product, QVC will use whatever they need to bring in as much revenue. If we continue to post a dislike for a specific host but that host is a top seller, they will not let them go. Same for vendors and products.

I too have hosts I dislike enough I don't watch. So, I don't buy or watch when they are on but if they are bringing in buyers then I am okay with them continuing to sell on air.

I will support their choices even if I don't watch these particular hosts/vendors/products. I want them to succeed and will continue to do as I always have. Watch what interests me and purchase items that I like at a price I feel comfortable with.

The new owners of The QVC Group common stock (and thus the entire company) may love the fact that Kim was the first vendor to generate over $250 million in sales revenue in a single year. (The actual figure was $283 million.)

And they very well may want even more and more of it.

Who here knows? Remains to be seen. But all they will care about is a recovery and then return on their investment. These firms invested capital: they want it back plus a decent return.

For them, Kim may be very well "happening" loudly and proudly with the $$$$!

$250 million in sales is a testament that Kim's variety of wares is popular. Obviously, people are buying. I would love to know the actual demographics, but if I had to guess, it would be the 60 and over crowd. I could be very wrong, because I fall into that category and I have never bought anything from her lines.

I don't see the Q having many younger viewers and I don't see her clothing line appealing to them. Her beauty and home designs, not so much either.

Her schtick is appealing to somebody. The proof is in the numbers. Does the Q need more Kim Gravels? How many more would make a difference?

I don't think she's up there with Bezos and Mark Z. Maybe one day, but not yet @finewoman .

I also very, very much doubt that Kim's net worth is $1 billion (right now).

Her company, however, has generated $1 billion in QVC sales since she arrived, but of course that is not all hers.

@finewoman I would think when that high number is thrown around as Kim's worth, they are adding in all her assets as well. What her businesses are worth, homes, properties, bonuses, retirement, perks etc. I know with many like Bezos they add the value of all companies. His yachts, cars, assets all properties, art, etc. taking all tht into consideration, I m sure Kim has a few bucks in the bank, and worth plenty. lol.
