Manifest?

So twice within a half hour Shawn used the word manifest. Must be the new buzz word for her instead of “ obsessed” . 🙄 Think I will just start shopping from the app instead of listening to this nonsense.

Manifest is being used quite regularly these days. It doesn't have anything to do with obsessed. It means to believe in something good happening to help it come true (rough translation). Yes it's a buzz word but she used it correctly tonight.

Buzz words sure come and go. Back in the 90s, anytime I heard the word synergy in a meeting I would feel like barfing. Started counting the times said or read in a memo to fight the urge. Cheers.

I sometimes think that people watch QVC, not to shop, but to find something about the hosts to complain about. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It doesn't take much to find something to complain about on Q.

People don't have to like what others like and that's ok.

You just took me back! I hated the word synergy too.

@CalminHeart In the 90's I worked for state government. The word the powers that be started using was paradigm. We even had to sit through paradigm training. It had nothing to our jobs. To this day I don't understand what they were getting at with pushing this other than giving the staff development department something to do.

Clients hired my firm to defend them during audits. So we had to explain their worldview 😂

We had contests and my absolute favorite was "The data was extrapolated from non contiguous sources".

@50Mickey I recall Paradigm Shift used alot when I went back to Grad school in the 90s in classes. World View and Cognative Dissonance also terms used at that time.

Last night she equated God & the universe. Totally wrong - God is the Creator and the universe is His creation.
The hosts say whatever to cover all their bases to appeal & sell to a larger market.

During the course of reading the Bible in a Year, the commentary mementioned " manifest " several times in explaining tie-ins between the Old and New Testaments.

Perhaps Shawn was listening to the same podcast !

I know what it means and yes it’s seems to be the new catchy phrase and being a Christian I don’t need to be told to “ Manifest” things in my life by a tv show host.

I will say, it seems at least she used an actual word this time rather than some of her nonsensical utterances.
