Host / Vendor Dialogue

I only watch "fashion" shows .... so I don't know if this unique to fashion ...

I can't understand any of the dialogue between host and vendor and host to viewers.

Between regional accents, squeaky voices and speaking speed .... I haven't a clue to what most of them are saying.

While I've never experienced this at Q, at the end of the day, you aren't missing much. So much is useless chatter and very little has to do with details of the products.

There are soooooo many regional accents. I can drive 2 hours in any direction and hear a whole different dialect. I enjoy it. I love the diversity of people and learn a lot from it.

My suggestion would be to check your hearing or rearrange your room. If the tv is too far away to read what's on it, it seems like it's too far away.

Have you checked the sound settings and tv speaker options on your tv?

Thanks for your suggestions. Vision and hearing are fine.

Since it's only certain female hosts on QVC ... the logical / easiest thing to do i just stop watching them.

I haven't heard any Host or Vendor with any such regional accents, squeaky voices or speaking speed. Can you name them?

I have no horse in this race as I don't watch QVC. Online here. But I think ALRATIBA might have meant many hosts speak too rapidly, or too fast.? That is one complaint I have heard a bazzilion times on these forums. Maybe squeaky ....she means the shrill voices posters have mentioned on these forums? Just reading between the lines. IDK about regional. My CC is small, I am close to TV, but have trouble reading it. But not to worry, I haven't turned TV on since last year. lol

I haven't had this problem watching the Q but I do at times when watching a movie. Often people will have a strong accent, speak softly and there is background music. It can be annoying when listening to accents that aren't native to me.

It depends on the speaker. Some are able to speak clearly in a nice tone while others slur words together, speak too rapidly, mumble, and two speaking together really difficult for the tv audience to distinguish words. I wonder why qvc hosts seem to be a side note to most every presentation...only two hundred left and this is burgundy mauve! If you have a host and a vendor you increase the cost of the item.
