With all the identity theft going on- why are not all makers of wallets, purses etc. included this feature? It is not that expensive to add it during the construction of the products. I will not purchase anything that does not have RFID protection! Extremely puzzled over this.

Because, despite what many money-grubbing fear mongers like to tell you, that is not really how most identity theft occurs. It is a solution in search of a problem -- despite what you may read online.

LOL, that's probably true. And as soon as you pull your card out it's exposed.

There are wallets and sleeves available. I would not want to pay extra for a handbag which forces me to use the protected pockets they put inside if I have my own wallet I like to use instead....

It was discovered over the week-end that thieves had attached scanners to several ATM machines around Albuquerque and have gotten the debit/credit card info on about 70 people. They're going to get you one way or another.

I have a question that I hope can be answered by someone on this site. Can you take an RFID purse and wallet through inspection at airports? Do I have to have them searched by hand or can I put them on the belt to be x-rayed.
