I love watching QVC but my pet peeve is the waste of products.

Example, food and beverage which can be pricey. Instead of giving

host full portions to taste, give a tasting portion.

Example, beauty products tat are very expensive, some with hard to

get ingredients yet the presenter and host use extravagant amounts

in the presentation. Would like to see less waste.

They are the experts on how to demonstrate products and should do and use what they think is necessary. What do you think they should do with leftover cosmetics? It would be unsanitary for someone else to consume leftover food and to dip into used cosmetics.

Most food demos have some mock products, or staff and production eats open packages. I know in the old days they used to talk about how the whole studio loved when Virginia Olsen came to Q to demo NESCO. She cooked up so many different items all day, when a TSV. The crew ate everything. She did however state on some things like sundaes, and some desserts whe used whipped soap as whipping cream for her demos, lol we know this as one of the hosts, Steve forgot and ate some. He had to run off stage to wash mouth. It was hysterical.
as far as cosmetics go, most cosmetics like shadows , pencils, they wipe with alcohol in between shows, and employees take home. Our local women's shelter takes gently used beauty prodcts

I woukd like to add, for the vendors.. the demo products are tax deductible. Just like Sees giving away all the candy, or people at Costco giving samples. It's part of doing business.

I don't think you need to worry. Plenty of extra food for hungry crew.and hosts.

David has explained many times that freshly prepared food is eaten by staff and crew, much is taken home and most of the rest is composted.

He also has noted that a lot of the jars and cans that are used in demonstrations are then used by the kitchen to put into soups and stews and other recipes.

It's the cost of doing business. Whether we like it or not, presentation is huge part of the sales business. Hunger and temptation start with multiple senses, including the eyes.

They can't donate food that's been under hot lights. Who knows what the heat did to the food. If I won't eat it, I wouldn't ask the homeless to eat it at a shelter.

The staff can munch on the so.e of that food; A large amount of what the present is styled and not meant for consumption. Watch carefully and you'll see the same "seving suggestions" are arranged once and the tables are brought out again and again. During an ice cream maker TSV the same sundaes and shakes roll out all day and are never touched.

I've heard David and Steve Doss say that the compost lots of food.
