I wish a lot of 'reviewers' would replace all the emotional stuff with FACTS about the product. I don't take a lot of reviews on shopping networks seriously because it seems like a good portion of them are life stories about how your daughter would probably love this and she's in college up in Mass and she really loves it there and - blah blah freaking blah.

The point of a review is just to point out facts and features of the product. That's all. If the reason you like/dislike it is relevant to facts and features of the product, then that is appropriate. If the reason you don't like it is because you are bloated that day or you decided it's not for you because you don't have the space and, well, blah blah freaking blah, then it's NOT appropriate.

Of course, one of my favorite boneheaded reviews, that I've read more than once, is the person giving a cast iron pot a bad review because it's heavy. Gee, really?

Moral of the story - one must take a lot of reviews with a HUGE grain of salt.

When writing a review...

I greatly appreciate it when I am reading a review of a product and the person who is writing it gives as much information as possible. For example, when it is a clothing item, I like to know the person's height, weight and normal size, what size they ordered and if it was a good fit, close to the body, loose fitting, might say something like, next time, I will go up a size or I recommend going down a size because….. These types of reviews help me better understand and visualize the item in comparison to my body.

If someone only says that they are happy with the item, that is wonderful but does not provide me with enough information to help guide my decision about it.

So true. Especially now, with the new return policy, we need as much help as we can get to make an educated decision. A mistake will be costly!

If a jacket is tight across the bust, tell me what size you normally wear at the Q and compare it (I usually wear a size XS in this brand—I'm 5'7", long waisted and take a 34D bra—but I would need to size up to a small to avoid too much cling). Or, if the fabric of a top is thin and lightweight compare to something we all know such as a men's undershirt (as in--this LOGO top is about 1/2 the weight of a man's Hane's t-shirt).

You can't be too exacting and there's so such thing as TMI!
