Host constantly looking at themselves

When they present a product the host should be looking at us the customer. Instead they look at themselves at the tv in front of them. Watch David Venable looks at himself all show. Really where are those buyers in the camera not your front tv.

@finewoman. I was watching Q2 earlier and noticed the new host, John, doing that. Not only was he admiring himself in the monitor but he actually struck a pose. He'd already irritated me by constantly interrupting the vendor while she was giving important information like sizing.

That posing did it, I changed the channel.

Interesting as I watched David's show and didn't notice him staring at himself. Makes me wonder what OP was watching.

I wonder how many people could do the job the hosts do? Listening to vendors, listening to the producers talking to them through their earbuds, watching the monitors for information about the products, trying to speak themselves.

But, yes, of course they're just admiring themselves in the tv monitors! "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?"

This complaint is as old as the hills.

As for they set up shots. That is true, but you can tell the difference when they linger, and then fix their hair, and then strike a pose as @Kachina624 posted!

If it bothers others, I doubt many people care.

The few times I have watched David, he has cracked me up. He wasn't trying to be funny, but he kept coughing and he then said "excuse me, I'm old, and old people cough a lot so that's what I do" He has these funny quips now and then out of the blue, and I find him comical.

Exactly. Hosts can't do anything right. Every petty little thing people pounce on here. I remember someone awhile back started a thread and posted complaining because a host cleared her throat during a show!

OMGosh, he's the worst offender. This is inexcusable because it's a rookie move and he's not a rookie! It's so distracting, you would think they were blind or something. The way they are looking somewhere other than at you, the audience.

We once met a Q vendor on vacation and struck up a conversation. They are not looking at themselves; there is a counter with the number of items sold. Each host is given a quota to sell. Most likely, that is what they are looking at.

@jackthebear. If they have a monitor showing what's currently on the air they can and do obviously look at themselves.

Yes, that makes total sense but some want to assume the hosts are narcissistic jerks admiring themselves in the monitors. smh

That's what Lisa R. used to do when working at Q. Constantly looking at herself and striking poses.

Could not watch her at all.
