Because the gourmet food shows are one of their most profitable endeavors. There are people like me that like them and order products all the time.

Even when things are overpriced, people buy from the food shows for one simple reason ... the convenience factor. It comes to your door, so it's a nice gift for many to give to others with little effort involved.

For many, convenience is everything these days.

@QVCaddict101 Because there are people like me who think there are too many shows in other categories. You obviously know what is overpriced for you. I do for myself.

I could name 3 very popular categories that I avoid buying or even watching. Maybe QVC should also stop giving so many hours to my choices, too.

Of course, at some point they'd be out of business!

I enjoy the food shows. Some of the other show are very boring and uninteresting to me. I don't watch them. That's what QVC does, sell different things to different people. It's not all about one persons likes or dislikes.

Too many? Why would that bother you? I do not understand why a genre of shows frequency bothers people just because they dont need it. There are tons of fashion on but i never think " too many" just because im not interesred. The channel programs is up to the channel not me. Are you saying QVC is the only channel you can watch?

What i watch on tv is up to me.

We are approaching the precipice of the holiday season. Food is where the money is. They're not going to sell much outdoor furniture, gardening tools or swimwear this time of year. 'Tis the season.

I used to often buy food from QVC and liked almost everything. Since retirement, I rarely do that anymore.

Personally, I enjoy the food shows. Don't usually buy things, but I'm a foodie and enjoy the food stylists presentations and preparations. And, I still think this old dog is capable of new tricks and love seeing what's new.

In fact, I ordered a couple things in the Steve Doss/Mary D show this Sunday afternoon. Gifts for other foodies in my life (for the most part) that I know they will enjoy. Different Strokes for Different Folks so they say.

I think QVC offering food is great for people that may not live near grocery stores or just can't get out to shop.

I like the food shows. I don't purchase often but do when I have something coming up where I want to serve something different that I can't get locally. They may be expensive but you have to realize the shipping costs, which can be very high on certain items, are added in. I bought 10# of our very delicious local shrimp once to ship to my friends in IA. The shrimp were $9/lb. The next day shipping was $100. Only thing I don't like is that I ordered the Lindt truffles during CIJ and asked for them to be shipped in December. I should've ordered one immediate shipment, then the December one

Most every grocery store around now make deliveres to the home. People could also use IinstaCart, DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc. Any of these would have a small delivery charge, but one would still save a lot of money compared to food on QVC!

@Carolina925 the Lindt truffles sold during CIJ weren't available for immediate shipping. They don't ship chocolate during the summer months. All of the ship dates were advanced orders.

people complain about the cost of food and groceries in the stores yet QVC is off

the chart with food prices and other prices and that's ok.
I also don't understand how prices on QVC are off the chart on some items that are in groceries for much less price. Hello.

i wonder if the hosts go home and say " wow people are getting ripped off or this food is so salty."
the fakeness is obvious.

i understand not all will agree with me but this is my observance.

the rip off is getting worse.

We have never used DoorDash or Uber Eats but Costco Instacart versus battling the store trip is well worth for us. A 70+ friend said recently she never heard of Instacart. But, she still hand deliveries checks to her power company, water company, etc. And, has no intention of using online banking to send checks. My guess is the Q fulfills a niche need for a variety of reasons. Have a great holiday weekend all!
