Male Customer Presence

I understand that the majority of folks watching QVC is women, but there are a lot of men who also enjoy watching QVC regularly ... like me. I've been watching QVC since the early 90s.

Once thing that I have always wanted to see, but never really have, is more products geared towards men specifically - Fashion for one thing. It would be amazing for QVC to put a bit more emphasis on their male customer base and my suggestion would be a weekly show geared specifically for men. As an avid watcher, I sometimes feel "left out" or "ignored" because of the focus on the female customer base.

Speaking as a female, QVC has very little that interest me anymore. Esp. this Christmas season it's been absolutely a snooze fest. I doubt QVC will start interesting men with fashion.

I am a life-long shopper, and in fact, I will be heading out to a mall later this afternoon.

I purchase gifts for many males in my family, and I truly agree with you.

I started shopping on QVC mainly for gold jewelry, but it is amazing to me to see the abundance of cheap and almost worthless items for sale now on the website. There are numerous items on the lunchtime specials with a cost of only $11.00 (small clothes sizes, trays, bras, etc.). I wonder how the company can possibly pull any kind of profit.

I have purchased shoes and a few other small things for men in my family on QVC, and I also buy them tools and other gizmos that come out (snow cover for car), as well as DB blankets.

However, I agree that I can rarely shop for men here, so off I go to other stores.

I think QVC has been wonderful for women over the past many decades, and I have fantastic jewelry and casual clothes (QF, LOGO, Isaac, D&C, BD, DB, Bob Mackie) collections thanks to QVC. In fact, I just bought a high-end cooking pot here, something I would never have thought about in the past.

I know some young men spend a lot of money on designer names and tennis shoes, so it is something to consider for the future.

@JAGaroutte That's a really great idea! I think that it would be great if QVC could make male customer oriented shows; men could buy items for themselves and viewers could get great gifts for the men in their lives. 😊 QVC could call the episode "Man Mondays" 😁🙌

It has always surprised me that they haven't focused on male fashion. I buy about 98% of clothes for my husband.

The vast majority of QVC's shoppers are women. As one of them, I'm not remotely interested in seeing men's clothes sold and would not watch such programming.

Men can always shop online at QVC.Com.

I'm a little surprised they don't. A lot of women shop for clothes for their husbands not to much other men in their lives. I guess in the summer there's more stuff that men would be interested in like gardening and home stuff.

I think Rick would be perfect to start small with a weekly show .... things like polo shirts and interesting tools or something like that. Just to get the ball rolling.

I DO think that most men who would buy on QVC would probably be more likely to shop on QVC.com rather than watching full hour shows.

Over the years, QVC has had things that seemed like good ideas, but if they don't sell well, we don't see them again. You can't blame them.

Qurate doesn't want male customers. Have you seen their quarterly financial reports? They exclusively refer to their customers as "she."

You have a good idea regarding QVC showing fashions for men. I would like QVC to concentrate more on men than the "Over 50 and Fabulous" campaign for women.

Not sure if I dreamt this, but weren't there fashion shows for men several years ago? I seem to recall Rick and Dan Hughes being involved. All I remember is seeing a show or two and then never again.

Personally speaking I would still buy clothing and shoes for my husband elsewhere, but there would probably be a market for it now with more and more shopping on line.

To answer your question, it's probably like @Kachina624 said, since the vast majority of QVC shoppers are women I don't think most women would find it enjoyable to sit through men's fashion shows and I know my husband wouldn't (some men would, of course).

But I would like to see more men's fashions on QVC.com as others have said. Maybe they could have a line of men's fashions with non-live video presentations. I think that would be great.

With three channels to fill and the incredible redundancy they inflict on faithful viewers all year around and most especially during the long, long holiday shopping season, I don't think the OP's idea is necessarily a bad one. No one in their right mind watches all QVC programming, so if anyone doesn't want to see a male focused program, well, they need not watch.

Right now, QVC has their male hosts wearing and selling womens clothes for men to wear. I see Steve and John B wearing Kim Gravel (e.g.) and selling these clothes for both men and women to wear. Then there are clownish clothes in the "Studio Park" line for men to wear.

Besides the men's shoes, there ARE lines of men's clothes in Barefoot Dreams, Peace, Love, World, Cuddle Duds, and Stan Herman. Only QVC doesn't show these on air very much.

Rick used to have shows with Dan Wheeler (Rick and Dan) to show items men would use around the house. I see fewer and fewer such items shown on QVC for indoor or outdoor projects.

Every business has a target market. At this time (at least), Q's target market is women.

There are countless retailers that cater only to men.

There are countless retailers that target to men, women, teens, and children.

There are so many who cater to home goods, beauty products, shoes, or whatever.

If one place doesn't have what you want, go elsewhere.

At one time they did sell men's sweaters. They did sell tools too. I buy all my hubby's clothes so I do think they should give it another try.

I guess I'm surprised that with so many winter states that there isn't much of a outdoors portion of QVC ( ice fishing gear and clothing, hunting gear and clothing), winter activity such as winter sports gear and apparel. I understand men are not a huge draw for QVC but I think it's worth a shot to try and bring more men and women who enjoy cold weather activities into play. Myself I'd love a 5 easy pay on an ice auger specifically. With millions of cold weather state activity persons I think it's worth a test period.
