QVC, Please do not post reviews from people who have not purchased or received the item

I know we (QVC and customers) have seen this request before - sometimes in this forum, sometimes on item pages. There are ways for people to request changes to an item such as sizing, material, or quality improvements. But, to have to wade through the reviews on an item page to get to an actual review because so many are just complaints or requests or rants - that's frustrating and I believe it defeats the purpose of the feature.

An example of this problem is on the item page for the recent Denim & Co. Lamb Leather Jacket TSV, A655647. Every single one of the 9 reviews posted so far are from people who have not purchased or received the jacket.

Why no petites, why lamb leather, why not faux leather, can't wait to receive it.....not a single one from a customer who has received the jacket.

PLEASE QVC keep the item review feature for those who have purchased the item and have an actual review to share.

Or, one suggestion that some other retail websites use is to include a "verified purchase" menu option.

@Thats Me. If A655647 was Friday's TSV, obviously nobody has had time to receive it yet to write a review. We've complained about non-purchasers writing rants for years but complaints have fallen on deaf ears. They seem to screen reviews only to assure no profanities are published.

The recent Dennis Basso jacket TSV was a beautiful faux leather, indistinguishable from real lamb, which did come in petites. It's still available. It's much more flattering than the D&C jacket, reminissicent of a blazer.

I don't know why but now one must post a photo to have the review accepted. I will no longer be submitting reviews.

@We rescue cats - The new review interface that was rolled out this year is really not user friendly, but posting a photo is not required; you can simply skip that section.

@We rescue cats - I just submitted a review last Thursday and definitely did not upload a photo with it. If it is helpful, the review process is much simpler if you go into your orders and click the "Write Review" button for the item there rather than starting the review process from the item page. It makes no sense that things are different, but they are. Good luck!

Reviews are not approved by human beings. They are handled by an algorhythm. If the post meets the requirements in the algorhythm, it's posted. If not, it's not posted.

There may be some random auditing at some point but it's very costly for a corporation (and we all know they prefer to make profits for shareholders instead).

It isn't worth my time or brain space to get upset about someone who posted without purchasing it.

Agreed! And they post reviews from the vendor website...nope, I don't read those. Many are from influencers who get the product free.

Most companies have a third party algorhythm handling reviews. If the review passes the criteria in the algorhythm, it gets posted.

Getting that third party to reprogram the criteria is usually not an option.

Besides, how would the algorhythm know if someone told the truth about buying something.

IMO, I don't care who posts a review. Buy it, don't buy it, I don't care. I find it very simple to look through 9 or 19 reviews to decide on an item.

Given Q's financial status, they can't afford to have the third party reprogram it.

Q has bigger and much higher priority business and IT issues than the review algorhythm.

I scroll right by reviews where people are complaining about delivery or something else that has nothing to do with the actual item.

You do not have to post a picture to post a review. You can only review once so the ones that post they haven't received their item yet cannot go back & post. HSN does not allow you to post unless it's a verified purchase. This screws people who received a gift.
