Stop assigning gender to inantimate objects such as shoes and handbags. It drives me crazy when the hosts say"she" and "her" when talking about shoes!!!!!

I guess you have problems with languages that assign gender (masculine/feminine) to words (ex: French)?? Don't see this as a big problem.

First ... I see this is your first post here. Welcome!

Second .... if that's the biggest complaint you have about any of the hosts, you overlook a LOT. lol

While ships are often referred to as "she" and hurricane names are both male and female, it seems a bit goofy.

I also think it's stupid that a part of the female anatomy is called "girls", but I guess some think it's funny.

I guess we all have something that drives us crazy, especially from some host more than others. Gender identification of inanimate objects isn't on my radar.

I can't imagine it's a woman who assigns these silly and often offensive nicknames to a woman's anatomy. There's two other names which are offensive, one I can't mention, both to our lower anatomy, one is given the name of a very young kitten.

@Noprep. I agree with you. When I am looking for my purse I never ask myself where could she be. My purse is an it. Just say the word breasts. It's okay. No girls are living in my bra.

Had a car that talked with a deep voice with notifications such as "A door is ajar". So it was natural to call him "he". His name was Bob. Ha.

@rockygems123 and @BlueFinch- My children name their cars. They are always "she's." I think one of them is "Subie."

@BlueFinch I grew up with my dad calling all his cars she, and giving them female names.

I don't mind it a bit. Seems such a small thing to be concerned about.

I don't care if they call it he, she, it, that thing, whatchamacallit, thingamajig, or anything else.

It doesn't change anything in my life. I see no need to get in a dither about something so minor.

Countries are given genders. Families are given genders, patriarchal, matriarchal.

It seems to lose significance when calling shoes, handbags, etc. a gender. Maybe just something fashion made up....
