Designers'; Full-Leg Pants

So many of the designers' make such lovely full-leg pants and beach pants. However, for me, they are too long (5'6"). The models and hosts that show them are wearing heels. In the real world, I rarely see women wearing heels on the boardwalk or on the beach. An exception would be around a pool in a resort. I would have to have invest in tailoring and then we are talking additional cost. Without this investment, it would be a quick trip to the ER. Shorten the pants to a length where there is an option to wear sneakers, flats, or to go barefoot.

@Daffney. I'm 5'4" and wear a 26 -27" inseam and I find more than enough of all types of pants that fit me perfectly. If you know your perfect inseam, you can easily check the length before you buy them. There are plenty for every single leg length.

Wide leg pants make me look short and dumpy. High rise pants go up to my chest. I'll stick with mid-rise and straight legs.

At 5'4" I'm right on the cusp between petite and misses clothing with a 29" or 30" inseam being best for me. If I can't get pants in petites, I'll look for misses short or misses ankle pants. As @Kachina624 @said, once you know your perfect inseam, look for it in the product description before you buy.

The best way to get exactly the length you need and want is to check the garment measurements.

The next test is to understand your rise. That one is harder.

I love the wide leg pants, however I noticed that they look very different from what the models are wearing. When I looked at the description it tells how wide the leg opening is and that leg opening gets wider and wider as you go up a size. So if your a small or medium the opening might be 10", but if your a large or xlarge the opening is 20". Why is that?
