QVC needs to zoom in more. I want to see colors and material textures better. I am trying to avoid returns.

Oh, QVC is the worst for camera shots. It really tells me it's a guy behind the camera, not a gal, because when they show us a model putting on the makeup product that we've been waiting to see, he switches to the host showing us the bottles it comes in. It's maddening. I stopped watching years ago and just use the website-if at all!

I agree. Plus, the colors on the website are washed out compared to what you get, especially in the prints. I also would like a closer look at the prints and a better description of all the colors it includes.

Typically, the director calls the shots, not the camera person. Sometimes, the host or OAP asks for a tight shot. I do think the lack of close-ups is a deliberate choice but I can only speculate why.

Yeah, but the director is most likely a guy, too. Clueless.

Although it would be nice if the zooms were slightly longer on occasion, QVC is so much better with the camera than HSN, & zooms at HSN are rare.

I think QVC does a very good job.

When watching HSN, the host can be talking about the available colors but the camera is veering all over the place as a model walks in. The host can be giving details about the item, but the camera is spotlighting how a model has accessorized the item being sold. Most often there seems to be no coordination between the host and the camera on HSN, which makes it almost impossible to see the specifics. The camera should be in concert with the host's lead, but it isn't. I watch HSN less than once per month & if the camera is doing its typical random focus, I change the channel.

I agree. I wanted to see an up close shot of a pair of earrings they had on early morning to see how they sit on the ear and it never happened. Needless to say I didn't order them.

@Pecky - Was that during the American West show? If so, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm not sure if QVC was using backup producers and camera people today because of the holiday, but both of Carolyn's shows had lots of issues with not showing good closeups of the items or cutting away to still shots or a long shot of the model while the hosts were actually trying to do a nice job of displaying details for the camera to capture. The shows were fun and there were lots of great items, but the camera work was frustrating.

I totally agree.....whoever is in charge of how cammeras focus on an item need to be replaced. There are so ,many things - mainlty clothing for me that looses my interest because Can't get a close up.....oh well, you loose QVC, I win.
