Make up models

I really wish they would use older models with more lines or wrinkles when demonstrating foundation and make up. They say on just about every brand that it helps reduce the appearance of pores and wrinkles. However, the models they use at 25 and do not hae a single wrinkle! I am over 65 and would love to try a couple of the different foundations, but they usually emphasize wrinkles and do not look good on my old skin. Please use more realistic models when demonstrating make up. thank you!

There is no make up that won't settle in lines, etc. on facial skin or eyelids.

I do see older models used and yes, the foundation has settled in wrinkles.

I never believe the hype used to sell which is why I had my upper eyelids done.

I can finally wear eye makeup again.

Thank you. They all say it does not settle in lines and wrinkles. However, everything I have tried emphasizes my wrinkles. I was wondering if there was actually one that doesn't. Guess I'll just give up on foundation. Thank you!

I'm 65 and I have some wrinkle. A couple of things that I think help me...I always use a primer. And I always use liquid foundation and gel or liquid blush. Don't use powder foundation or blush. At least for me they show the wrinkle much more. Hopefully this helps.

For me the foundation I use is BareMinerals complexion rescue. But everyone is different. You just need to find what works for you.

@56Work Just look at the older hosts when they are promoting makeup and skin care. They have a lot of wrinkles and you can see the products don't work on them. Some have had some help by professionals the famous 50 and fabulous and even younger hosts are all fake.

The only way to avoid accentuating wrinkles and fine lines is to not put anything on them. All makeup settles in them which is why you don't see older women modeling the makeup!

IMO, it doesn't matter if the model is 25 or 75 .... liquid foundations settle in wrinkles. It's a fact of life.

You can try using a primer or a Bare Minerals-type mineral makeup.

The problem isn't the age of the model, it's your choice of foundation ... and whatever else you're applying to your skin.

The other day they had a young model on and when she put the foundation on even she had the eye wrinkles show up. She literally looked better without the foundation. I can't remember what brand it was but yikes!

I’m 58 and have hardly any wrinkles but I have found that using a primer, Laura Geller’s baked foundation, or the right liquid foundation will help prevent or reduce wrinkles from settling into the lines. I’ve even found a few drugstore foundations that work well. And I eventually want to try Laura Mercier because her translucent setting powder is devine and makes my skin look flawless. But I hope these little tips and tidbits help!

They will never show any type real life since they are marketing a fantasy. That said, I would love to see a week with ONLY models over 70! Not gonna happen 🤣

I have seen makeup shows that use older models. Cant name them but there have been several.

I seem to get into a problem when I use liquid foundation because even though I need a formua that moisturizes because my skin is dryer, after that my skin looks shiny and I don't like that. Also, without powder, my foundation rubs off easily. If you use powder after your foundation, what do you use?? Thanks.

Since then, I've found Bare Minerals to be the most user friendly foundation. Not only can you control the coverage, but it doesn't smear.

They often use that grey-haired woman who looks beautiful made up. I think her name is Helen. She looks totally different without makeup.

Hsn has many older makeup models on the channel, BUT not the Q. That is why I buy more from HSN in this field.

Since then, I've found Bare Minerals to be the most user friendly foundation. Not only can you control the coverage, but it doesn't smear.

I haven't signed in for a few days since I haven't been feeling well and I wanted to comment on and say - I feel the same! I don't hear very many women I know admitting to wearing powder, but then I think --- really? I kept thinking, I can't be the only person that foundation rubs off so easily without! I will have to check into the Bare Minerals. Thanks!

I watch all the time, and see many older models doing foundation demos.

Tarte uses a specific older woman and the wrinkles still show. IT cosmetics uses Helen, they show. Jodi is a model that is frequently used on many beauty brands and the wrinkles show.

RoseMarie Swift is a makeup artist. Her brand is RMS Beauty, she demonstrates her makeup and she looks beautiful but guess what? Her wrinkles show.

I saw some wrinkling on Jaquie and yes they show and she is not even that old!

Bottom line we are all imperfect and makeup may help some, but lines and wrinkles? They're going to show. Choose one that suits your other needs, and makes you look fresh and dewy.

Use a light hand and mix the foundation with moisturizer, see if that helps, and use a beauty blender and bounce away.

BTW right now I am using RMS, Laura Mercier and Fenty foundations. I like all 3. Unfortunately my wrinkles show.
Thankfully, as of yet they ain't that bad. Tomorrow is another day though.

PS Use a setting spray. I like Fix+ and UD.

Many years ago I was on a ski trip when the weather was perfect. The ski lodge was packed for lunch. I saw a woman with a LOT of makeup on and very bright ski wear.

I couldn't stop looking at her because the makeup, blush, eye shadow and lipstick was all liquid based and wasn't set with powder of any sort. It was unbelievable that she thought the makeup would last all day. Her face looked wet.

After lunch she got up to leave, walking toward the deck outside ... and BOOM! She walked right into a sliding glass door that wasn't open! It was startling and people all around stopped to see what caused the noise and I saw something I'd never seen before ..... her entire face had hit the glass and smeared all over it. One the glass was makeup, a streak of lipstick and what a mess! Not only was the glass a mess, but her makeup was smeared all over her face!

I remember it clearly to this day ... still wondering how she could have thought the makeup would "stay" all day. What a smeared mess she made!

Wow! Poor woman - not only was that probably painful but embarassing! I hope after this she realized that she needed to either alter her makeup routine or add powder!!
