I love D&C dresses too. However, all their midi dresses are maxi dresses on me.

We must be twins ! For the 3 months we are in southern FL, I wear maxi tank dresses because they are cooler than slacks !!!

Brought a couple home back North for the summer and I always get compliments on them. A sweater North and South for going into restaurants is a constant !

Love midi dresses with sleeves for the summer. Very cool and comfortable especially in Texas heat and air condition home. I have a number of Eileen West lawn cotton nightgowns and on no plans to go out days will put a fresh one on and am comfortable all day.

@Alsace Gal Sorry they are too long for you, I have that problem with some dresses but usually a petite will be okay, If the dresses have slits on the side and are still too long on me, I tie a knot on the side and it works and looks cute and cool for the summer. I thought I would give you that suggestion in case you want to try it.

I love dresses all summer, from all brands...LOFT, Banana Republic and others. I like above the knee to maxi. They're just comfortable, pretty, one piece dressing, easy and cool.

I have two I just got from D&C this spring that I love. Received one (Gingham blk/wht elastic bodice midi, A633722), right as I was walking out the door for a Florida vacation last month. I stuck it my suitcase and practically lived in the dress. Cute, comfortable, cool...dressed up or casually. Not for everyone, as I know women don't always like tiered, but this wasn't poofy, or overdone, fell nicely.

I got another D&C style I haven't worn yet, A8653185, an empire waist, navy denim looking knit, with thinner straps, & pockets...I can see myself wearing this a lot this summer.

I'm only 5.1.5" and both fit me as midis. I love that they offer petites! I've been happy, so far with D&C dresses. Not every style is my thing but there's some good sundresses for me.

Amyb I have two of the elastic bodice midi dresses and love them!! The second one I got "as is" And it's in perfect condition. The dress is also on sale now so I'm going to pick up a third. Love everything about it especially the fact that it's not too puffy with a lot of extra fabric. Super comfortable and cute!

I like all dresses and I also prefer maxi, I sometimes can buy a regular midi and it will be a maxi on me.

I love the ease of midi dresses and maxi’s.
One and done.
They keep you cool and you always look pulled together, like you spent a long time getting ready when in actuality the opposite is true.

LOL @Kachina624 I don't wear the midi length dresses since on me they are maxi's except the fit is not correct for my short self.

I do like dresses in the summer. I wear skorts plus maxi dresses because unless I'm doing yard work (when I need protection against tall grass, BUGS (daggone tick) etc., I find they are cooler to wear for casual things, although since I bought a Toyota truck, I admit that climbing up into the beast in a long dress can pose a challenge.

Thinking and looking back, I think midi dresses and skirts have remained 'in style' throughout the many fashion years and trends.

Not too-too short, not too-too long.

I always felt 'safe' wearing a midi length, when attending 'this and that' function.

@amyb . Last year and this year I bought quite a few Midi dresses. For my age, this works best. I get many compliments. It feels good. They are cool and comfortable for the summer. Different styles. Church, grocery shopping or out to dinner. They have been great.

I can't wear any above-the-knee dresses. They just don't look right on me. I even posted one just slightly above the knee once on the outfit thread and someone let me know it wasn't my best look. I still wear it though. Yet, people older than me can easily wear dresses 3-5" shorter and it looks just fine. So, it's knee length or longer for me. I did recently buy a skort at Costco, but may only wear it at home. For summer, I don't find longer dresses to be hot as long as the fabric is light. I'm so accustomed to jeans regardless of the heat though.
