I don't know how to access all clothing suppliers but I wish they would put larger buttons on blouses and tops. As you age arthritis comes and alot of times I have difficulty opening up the buttons. Consideration is appreciated.

This isn't the place to contact vendors. You would have to go to their Facebook page.

But even if you did contact them, seniors are not their core demographic. They focus on the young impulse buyers.

I remember years ago, the media was saying that companies would begin to make instructions on labels easier to read and also make products easier to open for aging boomers, well that hat hasn't happened and probably never will.

It might be an added cost, but it is definitely something a seamstress/friend/family member could do for you @gypsys mom

Changing out buttons isn't too hard, even if you have to adjust the button hole a bit.

There are stores with HUGE button selections that might be more suitable.

I'm sure you know there is no way to access all clothing suppliers....and even those 'designers' that work for Q, don't come to these boards.

@gypsys mom .......I too have trouble with buttons. I quit buying button down shirts and buy pull over blouses.

@gypsys mom. Perhaps you should consider Denim & Company's adaptive styles. Many close using Velcro.

@gypsys mom Not going to happen. I imagine buttons and buttonholes are more expensive than any other option. As suggested, I would look for pull over tops or ones that don't need to be unbuttoned. There are plenty of alternatives. I don't have any dexterity issues but I have very few tops that have buttons.

This is indeed a problem but bigger buttons aren't going to happen on mainstream clothing.

There are sites with Velcro and snaps, or just go with pull on.

I had the best help from an occupational therapist. Often an even bigger problem is kitchen items and other household tools. Switching vacuum attachments doesn't happen and opening new bottles or jars is only a dream.

Could you request help from OT, they are the best and do an extensive evaluation.

Take a look at the adaptive tops. Some of them have buttons, but fasten with hook and loop or magnetic closures.

Another idea is just unbutton the top two buttons and put it over your head. I have trouble just with my right hand so I use my left for buttons. Even putting on shoes is hard. The backs squash down. Getting old sux.

Even though I don't (yet) have trouble with buttons, I've been eyeing the adaptive options, using velcro.

I'd like to see more velcro closure options in the general fashion world.

I recall, years ago, buying a cute fleece pj set with very, very small buttons.

I guess I didn't pay attention to the buttons while in the store.

QVC sells blouses with magnetic buttons. They are easy to put on and take off. Selma Blair who has MS was a representative of the clothes line.
