One host only…please!

You always have a vendor rep and adding two yapping hosts is obnoxious! You cannot hear what is said when three people talk at once. Trying to listen about Roberta's plants and it is impossible.

If two hosts are assigned to the same show, it would only make sense to alternate presentations, especially if there is a vendor to present the item. The hosts who are camera hogs seem to see their role as entertainers rather than presenting an item for sale. Watch me! Buy the item because I use it and I believe it is important!

Please, please, ONE host per presentation PLEASE.

Oh, and let's not forget the host who talks NON STOP for 4 of the 6 minutes allowed for the presentation and does not allow the vendor to talk at all! They don't even take a breath just non stop nonsense talk about themselves and how they can wear/use the item personally.

Add the hand signals which I find offensive. (I speak Sign Language and I'm getting more and more upset with this.) And there is no purpose to pointing at an object when the camera operator knows enough to cover the item. Are they directing? Are they ordering the camera operator around? These constant, meaningless, hand pointing and fluttering movements are annoying. And, yes, I immediately change the channel and give up interest in the item to be sold.

I have never had that impression, and think it livens things up a bit to have several on set.🥰 I think they get a little overzealous sometimes because they have a short window, and are trying to make all of their key points.👍 It does not determine whether I will buy or not, but the unique perspectives offered from each host/vendor usually gives me the info I need to make an informed decision.👍

I do however understand this particular style just does not appeal to everyone.😊

I don't mind two hosts, as long as they take turns and don't compete with each other (hosts horsing in on their partner's presentation, shouting across the studio, e.g, "Heyyyyy Ray!!") I find Vanessa and Steve to be a good pairing, as well as Shawn and Rick.

I agree with you. The CEO doesn't like having just 1 host because he considers it entertainment when they act like teenagers, tell personal stories, and talk over each other instead of giving all the details about products.

Two different issues. A host presents and describes the item and introduces the vendor to talk about the item and demonstrate it. There is a director and producer to tell the camera operators and crew what to do. Everyone has their own job. For a host to be sticking their hand in a camera shot is ridiculous and unnecessary. It is annoying seeing a finger pointing when you are trying to see the meticulously prepared examples of the item that is being demonstrated. Do they think that the viewers that stupid?

The random, non sensible, wild gesticulations that mean nothing and mimic that of some one speaking sign language is offensive and are like cultural appropriation. Deafness is more than a condition.

To add to the issue, I am Italian and use hand gestures to either emphasize what I am saying or to visually describe what I am saying. Other cultures do the same.

Random wild gestures are different.

Agree with the constant hand motion and pointing. I just referred to DV

doing that in another post. Im not saying it's offensive. Im just saying it's

too much pointing for no reason. Then his full five finger manuevers.

Distracting. And other host also. But he is the worst.

Really, we know are basic colors. We can figure it out. All that circus

business is a channel changer. And yes, I do turn it off.

What do you want a host to do?

I've never seen a salesperson in any location try to sell something without using their hands. It's human nature.

@NYwoman I know exactly what and to whom you are referring...I happen to call her hand and arm gestures "hand jiving" since it is like an obnoxious dance. My first response when seeing her hand/arm gestures was "didn't you mother teach you to keep your hands to yourself or put them in your pocket?" I have an idea this behavior eminated from her prior job as a weather person on tv who had to use her hands to explain. Also explains the incessant domination of a conversation, she sometimes acts like she is the vendor. I cannot stand to watch her; in a rare instance she hosts with Susan Graver, she won't let SG get in a word. RB is obnoxious on food shows.

To me it's really frustrating when you're really interested and going to possibly purchase something, when the other two are more interested in themselves and don't allow the expert to inform on the product. Obviously, the Q doesn't care and are just interested in entertainment, laughing, giggling, goofing off and carrying on about nothing.

Not interested in doing their job. That's information needed as much as color.
