Bring in better fabrics!!

Can you start bringing in vendors with more eco conscious fabric content!

so sick of 80% poly 20% spandex.

more cotton, linen, lyocell and touches of wool for the colder months, organic cotton, recycled poly, recycled cotton, upcycled/recycled leather, tencel.

those vendors are out there, please bring them to the Q/HSN!!

bring back Candance Cameron Bure.... she had a lot of eco fabrics and her clothes are wonderful!

You do realize bringing in "better" fabrics will raise the cost of the products?

I do believe the Q IS trying to keep costs down.

Also like the 100% beefy cotton tops, if you're going to spend money it should be on quality!

When the stores, including QVC, start loading up with fabrics like linen and cotton, I'll quit buying. Life is too short to spend it like our mothers did, slaving over an ironing board. Today's women don't have time to be laundry slaves.

Bring on the polyester and processed rayon that's wash and wear. Love the 60/40 cotton-poly mix. Just yesterday I nixed a nice looking D&C blouse that was cotton with a little Spandex, which won't do a thing to reduce wrinkling.

Polyester only fabrics will not let your skin breathe it add up after years of wearing these materials , and yes they easy to care for but not healthy in the long run .

ah, yes i do know that better fabrics would cost more. i don't have a problem with spending a lttle more for clothing that is a nicer fabric, washes better, holds up better overall and is easier on the enviroment.

agree, these polyester etc. Man made fabrics are unhealthy and difficult to recycle they end up in 3rd countries they trough them in the ocean .

I agree. I do not buy or wear anything made with poly or other synthetic fabrics.

These fabrics are made from petroleum and it is plastic. This fabric is toxic to our environment.

When you wash poly fabric, small particles break off and are found in our water sources. It is so bad that our wildlife and fish are filled with this plastic. It's in our dairy and from products too.

Plastic is also now found in rain water. Most humans now have this plastic in our bodies....even newborns.

This is toxic and causing harm to our planet and all living things.

If we don't stop this junk from being produced, it will eventully kill everything. Plastic does not break down fully. There is no where to put it and no way of getting rid of it.

There are a ton of excuses of why people want to wear it, It is irresponsible to manufacture plastic and poly and irresponsible to buy or wear it.

Every fashion retailer cannot bring every brand under the sun into their inventory. I think your best action for shopping is to search those retailers that already have brands that feature eco-friendly fabrics. They're usually very expensive, but there are many retailers out there, you just need to do your own search online.

Candace Cameron Bure is available at Walmart. She announced that on her social media pages once it was apparent that she would no longer be at QVC.

So there's really no problem. Just don't look for QVC to be your one-stop shop for all your fashion purchases.

Your post reminded me of a polyester blouse that I loved and wore to work years ago. I would sweat uncontrollably when wearing it. I didn’t see the connection until the 3rd-4th time wearing it. I was horrified when I went to the ladies room and saw 2 huge wet circles under my armpits that were very visible. Got rid of that blouse immediately!

Yes, nice fabrics cost more at some retailers. But I have been able to find everything I want for less than Q charges for polyester.

I can find quality clothes in "better" fabrics at a lot of retailers. Most of the time, they cost less than cheap polyester at Q.

Q is trying to keep their costs down and polyester is cheap. They market it under some cutsie names and high prices to hide the fact that it's cheap fabric.

from the replies, i am not the only one who feels this way, so why get all bent out shape?

i am well aware of QVC/HSN and their products lines, but you do have to change with the times and not be stuck in the throw away 1980's

at the very least, have a few vendors/lines with better quality overall, i don't think that's too much to ask from a national retailer.

Not sure how you got that from my post, I was offering information, and trying to offer a suggestion where you can find what I thought you were looking for -- eco-friendly fabric brands.

I mentioned Walmart for Candace, and a search for other retailers online.

But if you just wanted to rant about QVC, I misunderstood your intent. Carry on.

It took me about 5 years to figure out that Polyester fabrics did not work for me. I found myself overheated in them, with no warmth provided by them in the winter. So, 30 years ago I decided to stick with cotton and natural fabrics. I don't iron anything; so it all looks beach casual when I wear an outfit, and that's fine for me. I understand the easy care of polyester fabrics, they just didn't work for me. I can find loads of well made cotton and natural fiber clothing online through ebay, and I wait for JJill to have sales. Lands End is nice as well. The Q offers a few 100% cotton items I have liked, as well as linen...so no complaints there.
