Cake and Cookie Presentations

When presenting cake or cookies, the presenter often squeezes or mashes the item into an unappetizing mush. It's very disgusting to look at and sometimes turns me off from purchasing the product. I'm sure there are lots of better ways to present a food product in a more appetizing way.

@MyNicknameNotAvailable It must not turn away the majority of the buyers. Seems as if almost all the posts do something similar repeatedly. If the sales were tapering off, the producers would be giving the hosts different instructions.

If I'm interested in something, then I'm interested in it. I guess I'm just not sensitive enough to imagine any host squeezing a food item would deter me from a purchase.

The only food presentation that grossed me out was when a host would take Grandma's Coffee Cake and roll it into tiny "doughballs." Repeatedly, one for each flavor. Never understood the rationale for that.

The cookie squishing doesn't bother me, but admit I get turned off when they press down on the rare meat and all the bloody juices ooze out! Yuck!

😝😝😝 It's supposed to be food presentation, not food decimation.

And why do some hosts have to constantly touch the food, followed by hungry hosts all diving in to eat it.

When the pandemic was in full swing, everyone was making enthusiastic, exaggerated hand washing a great big deal when the camera was rolling, and NO ONE was allowed to sample the food. Do you suppose anyone washes their hands anymore? Hope so.........!

I loathe that presentation. It's Shawn, I'll say it. She's the only host that does that. She's actually proud of that demonstration as she presents it as her personal story for the cake, every time. All I can think of is her touching every item in her show, and everything on the set earlier. Plus, if we're lucky, we see her wipe her nose with her hand as she so often does. Then all of that cake rolled up in her hands into a gross science experiment, and she eats it.

Yep, the tissueless hand wipe to the nose combined with rolling up the cake into greasy balls is disgusting.

No one tells her to stop it because that is her kooky, quirky personality. I am surprised that she doesn't run her fingers through her hair after rolling the greasy, disgusting cake balls so she could condition her hair.

It doesn't bother me at all and am not sure how they could show the texture or level of moistness without at least cutting into it. I know the guy from Junior's Cheesecakes sold me many cakes with him pulling his fork through the cake. The meat shows don't bother me, I like my beef totally rare and know it's not actually blood. Watching them cut into a juicy steak doesn't mean you're going to get the same results after cooking them yourselves. I do like when they show cookies because I prefer crispy cookies and when they show they're soft, I know they're not ones I'd like...except Cheryl's, I love their iced cookies!
