Camera man slow as molasses!

Mark Charles was demonstrating a new Kuhn Rikon item and every time he began showing how it worked the camera would pull away with a long shot of the people standing behind the table. Then, by the time the camera closes in for a close shot the demo is almost over!I have noticed this happens a lot lately.The camera should stay on the product. I have noticed this with purse demonstrations often also.

I agree and have noticed it too. I don't like it. And many hosts and even vendors take plenty of time so that the camera can get a closeup, but it never happens. There used to be many more tight shots.

I'm not sure if it's the camera person's fault, or the producer's. It's another area where I think the Q has an advantage but doesn't use.🤷‍♀️

The producer is usually responsible for camera shots, I think. Sounds like Q has lost Quality.

I have noticed the same thing .. it's so aggravating when you like the item & want to see how it works.

Agree......when waiting for a close up shot you getnothing....whoever calls the shots needs to be talked to....so irritating and you end up not buyting!

The cameraman should be listening to the presentation. It sure looks like they are not.

The director calls the shots. Regardless, QVC's camera work could be better. It's frustrating to wait for them to pan in, although a small delay is to be expected.

Aren't the studio cameras robotic? If they are, who is responsible for following through...the producer or is there a stage director?

I've noticed the same thing for a long while now but think it's getting worse. The camera person seems to be more interested in doing long shots (I know this isn't the correct term) of whomever is presenting and telling their personal stories than showing the actual product. Where I notice this most is in jewelry presentations. I remember "in the old days" where the camera would show the jewelry close-up and you could actually see the items. They sure reeled me in many times with that method.
