Some new shows for QVC

* A duvet cover hour. There are 236 listed if one searches "duvet cover." There are solids, patterns, stripes, all colors. Wow! While warehouses seem to be loaded, I've never seen even an hour devoted to them. How do they (realistically) think they will sell them? Why even carry them if none ever see the light of a broadcast?

* A kitchen show showcasing items of fewer than 15,000 and 5+ colors of whatever item shown, but instead a real variety featuring (more than 4-6) actual smaller items for the kitchen. No shoes, food, Temp-Tations, LocknLock, LeCreuset, ovens, mops/vacs/ ice machines or other larger kitchen aplliances. How about some nice microwave food covers and hot bowl holders, colorful pot holders, trivets, silicone jar scrapers/spreaders, whisks, turners,etc.? Even an upside down butter keeper, the kind you put cold water in and the butter is in the lid. Whoever is doing the kitchen show buying needs to rev it up--too much the same old, same old.

* For small kitchen tools, for "one hour only," have a buy one, 2nd ships free (for less or equal shipping cost, i.e. 2 for one $3.50 or $5.50).

* An outdoor "bird" hour, with feeders, including humingbird feeders, bird houses, hummingbird swings, various styles of bird baths, maybe some special bird seed mixes. There are even people (shoppers!) living in apts. and condos who may have a patio or balcony to where they would enjoy attracting birds.

Besides being a (happily retired) librarian who would plan events to get more poeple to visit our library, I also worked at a car dealership where I helped generate sales and service promotions. Then there was my first early education career in which I created themes for curricula to keep little minds engaged.

I have shopped for well over a decade here and believe QVC is languishing, where programmers/buyers have grown complacent and out of touch, not to say the powers at the top. They could, and should, do so much better to move products and revive interest. All this, of course, is only my not really humble opinion!

Several years ago we were asked by one of the members to list programming ideas of interest.

We came up with many. Haven't seen one.

However, that was when the previous CEO announced QVC was targeting Millennials. "Youth is where it's at." Their interest hasn't been captured either.

There are thousands of items online that are never presented on air. Why not??

QVC should just become an online retailer and perhaps their bottom line would improve.

They used to have quilt shows which I enjoyed. Also, instead of gourmet holiday, how about holiday table decor? I know the answer - I'm in the older demographic they aren't aiming to please.

What about the ADULT THING on the first Friday of every month with Colleen - HSN ? I only saw it once but they talked about and sold everything that they received from a high end

adult store.....

If they are languishing and overhead is eating them alive I don't understand why they don't consider merging QVC and HSN and bring them into one cohesive unit combining the inventory and overhead into one unit. Surely that would help the inventory issue. There may be legal issues of which I have no idea, unions, contracts.....

it is amazing how much stuff is repeated on air, yet they tell viewers we have many more items on line

I think we need some more hokey Temptations, tired out old mattresses, overpriced vacuums, oval magic fans, Halos, I-pads, "special-cow" hamburgers or three pounds of chicken parts dusted with smoked paprika for 100.00, or more Josie grease glop or that giimicky cap that "grows hair".

@RollTide2008 Great question! And why would anyone buy this shoe (Clarks Jaunt Way) on QVC for $84.98 plus $5.50 shipping and no free returns, when they can shop for them on Amazon for $44.07 today with free shipping and free returns?

Yet they are still for sale at the highest price here at the Q and they've had several presentations.

I don't know why anyone would buy shoes that unattractive. I think that everytime Q does a Clarks show.

Nonetheless, there's likely a better financial return for an $80 pair of hideous clogs than a $15 peppermill. Also, if I was going to buy shoes I wasn't absolutely sure about, I'd pay more and buy them from QVC so I could return them after a few wearings if they don't work for me. Amazon's return policy is usually not that generous.

40.00 less on "A" WITH free shipping .

Q wants their price (40 dollars MORE) plus 10.50 shipping. Today ( 4-10-23).

I WANT to buy from Q, but this is a RIDCULOUS difference.

I check Q first ( I don't really know why because loyalty doesn't seem to pay today...and it's so competitive today...)

I won't pay that just to see a demo on TV. I can figure out a ladder. Most people can.

Q better wake up ....EVERYONE compares today.....!!

This item may be even less somewhere else...I didn't look, but that's a big difference!!!

NO I didn't buy from A either!!!

Me! I bought shoes that unattractive! And not just one pair, but two. They are comfortable, support my problem knee and lower back. Not a fan of most Clarks' styles, or most Q sneaker styles, but these hit the bullseye this month.

It seems you may be more fashion conscious than I am. But, hey! There are so many shoes from which to chose, you should be able to find plenty to wear that will make the world a more attractive place.

I think that is what they will do in the near future. They had all types of shows before Mike George took over. We have to remember that our buying dictate what shows we will and what will be sold. They have offered all types of items on air but if no one is buying or we are complaining about it the show of items is removed. I heard David say that a lot of items has been presented doing the years and if is not up to standard with most customers it is no longer a product on that network. Some companies that sold goods on the Q has also gone out of business and we complain about the items made in China.

You not getting it for free the price of shipping is included in the price. To be honest Amazon own their own planes and trucks and most of the people are contract workers. They pay their people less and those drivers don't get breaks most of the time just for you to say that shipping is free to you. One of their planes went down outside of Houston and everyone onboard died. There was packages everywhere and they blame the pilot for it.

I love duvet covers. They can change and freshen up a room.

Also we feed the birds all year ... I've even put on knee high boots and gone out to the feeders with snow falling into my boots, just so I could reload. We have 3 feeders and a tray for the cardinals all year. Then shortly we'll be adding two hummingbird feeders. Love your ideas

Time to FRESHEN UP a very stale line up!.

I have to hand it to Shawn on that one. She seems to get stuck with MANY of those presentations and I honestly don't know how she gets through them with a straight face.

Maybe it appeals to her self admitted quirky side, but still, kudos to her for being able to go along with the shtick.

P.S. We need way more electronics in general...way more...they just don't do enough.
